This bar is great! I went in out of curiosity after hearing the manager sit drunkly at my normal watering spot talk bad about one of the other bartenders. She always seemed to be within ears shot of me and I heard the most crude remarks ever about the bartender it peaked my intrest being relatively new to the area. Won't go into details but was bad enough and heard consistently enough thought I needed to see this train wreck in action. I decided just before holiday I couldn't take it anymore curiotisity got the best of me and had to go check out this god awful woman she was talking about. I was in shock to walk in and see 1 the bar has such a cool vibe not at all what I pictured by what the manager looked and way she made it sound 2 the service was great the bartender was super professional (didn't look or act like the haggered troll I had pictured by manager drunken rambling) 3 cocktails cheap and the have jello shots for $3 (super cool little surprise) Didn't try food kitchen had already closed for the night 4 They have tons of really cool games and found out in summer they have a huge patio with things like cornhole and oversized table game. If you've heard any different dont listen.This spot is a little gem and deserves the time to be checked out!Definitely will be back and make one of my normal stops when out and about! The recently (April 2022) reopened and remodeled Pete’s Satire lounge is now serving amazing bar food! Known as a iconic dive bar of Denver it now hosts neighborhood locals who just wanna go out for an affordable drink and have a great time in one of the most iconic historic bars of Denver. The remodel was essentially a restoration of the historic building which unveiled stonewalls from the 1960s. The bar feels much more spacious with two new bar counters with open garage doors facing Colfax. We sampled the new bar menu which had some exceptional standouts like the cheesesteak eggrolls, the pastrami Reuben, the barbecue chicken rings, and the mac & cheese with pulled pork! So, I've enjoyed the greasy spoon style of The Satire many times over the years. But the service has become awful. My family stopped in today on July 4th to have burritos and beers as most places are closed. Huge mistake. The bartender/waitress was absolutely trashed. She took our order of three beers and disappeared. When my bf finally got tired of waiting and went to the bar, she didn't know who he was or where we even were sitting. It's a small place, and we were THE ONLY PEOPLE seated in a booth and not at the bar!
