From Atlanta visiting friends. A stunning interior. I have always loved bars that are libraries. The books aren’t for reading but the cocktails are for drinking. I asked their head bartender Kristine to make me 3 rounds of off menu, bartender made drinks. As I’ve travelled throughout the world, I’ve usually asked for this at nice cocktail lounges. Some may consider this to be a nightmare consumer but I like putting bartenders to the test. Usual cocktail menus bore me. Kristine met, exceeded and surpassed expectations. The first round was a creative gin and fig based cocktail. The second was (what i thought) the perfect Colorado take on an old fashion. Bourbon, alpine liqueur, and banana. This started off as an old fashion on the palette and finished as totally unique. The third was an egg white (my favorite) cocktail that was amazing, unique, and different than anything I’ve had as a person who avoids whiskey sours and encourages different egg white drinks. From the moment you step inside, you're transported to an atmosphere of understated elegance, perfect for a relaxed evening with good company. My visit was made even more enjoyable by their delicious strawberry cocktail. It was the perfect balance of sweet and refreshing, a true taste of summer in a glass. The company was, of course, excellent, but The Roosevelt itself provided a wonderful backdrop for conversation and connection. What truly sets The Roosevelt apart, however, is its playful secret. The discovery of the bathrooms tucked away behind unassuming bookshelf doors added a delightful sense of intrigue and fun to the evening. It's these little touches that elevate a good bar experience to a memorable one.
