This place is a fun spot if you are looking to have a unique dinning experience. However, i do believe that reading the reviews will help you have a grasp on certain aspects of the restaurant. Walking in we were told it be about an hour and a half wait for a table, no problem , there are many places you can walk around to but, i understand the frustration met if you were unaware prior to entering the establishment. But they do have a system where you put your number in for the waitlist and something i found cool was it is a two way text chain. Meaning if need be you can text the restaurant incase you're running close to the 10 minute grace period for your table.
Once sat we were greeted with a server who didn't introduce himself and wasn't the warmest , this definitely impacted our time here especially since he would bend down to a hands-on-knees position to talk to us (this maybe wasn't the best option because we did get to see a good-ole plumbers crack while he was speaking to another table, assumed in the same position of course).Dinner and a show i guess? However, he was helpful when i wasn't a fan of the squash dish by taking it away. But the "you're not even going to take a bite" comment definitely felt rather harsh. This drew me out of the meal completely and my boyfriend and i were more-so shocked at the fact he would say such a thing. I did provide proof that i did in fact take a bite and he then provided a new menu to me. I didn't order anything else because at this point i was not a fan of the establishment and would rather wait out my boyfriends meal, pay , and leave.
However, my entire view of La Forêt changed as soon as i spoke to Lenka. She was the definition of warm and professional. She even came and sat with my boyfriend and i and was so kind, we even discussed the Detroit Lions football team, love of Chicago, among many thing , it was amazing!! She went above and beyond for us and single-handedly changed my perspective on this restaurant.
All thanks to Lenka and the Beef Bourguignon i will definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for somewhere different in the Denver area. As for next time i decide to stop in Im eager to try their Brie and chicken (trust me this chicken smelled delicious)
I would also like to recommend the Crisp Air cocktail if you are a fan of a sharp...
Read moreWe chose La Forêt on Broadway to celebrate our anniversary and were really looking forward to a special evening. While the food and service were wonderful in many ways, we were genuinely disappointed that our celebration wasn’t acknowledged. As two people with backgrounds in the service industry, we know how impactful small gestures can be. A simple note, or a celebratory touch would have gone a long way, especially after spending over $200 on our meal. It felt like a missed opportunity to make the evening feel as special as it should have.
That said, there were still some real highlights. Tyler, our server, was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. He helped guide us through the menu with ease and made us feel well taken care of. The food was beautifully prepared, and we especially enjoyed the mushrooms and asparagus. While I follow a pescatarian diet and hadn’t checked the menu in advance, I was able to find something I truly enjoyed. However, this isn’t an ideal spot for vegetarians or pescatarians, as most of the dishes are very meat-forward. It’s worth reviewing the menu ahead of time if you have dietary restrictions. But would not count it out.
The drinks were also excellent, and the cozy, elegant atmosphere made it feel like the perfect spot for a special night out. I did have to skip dessert since most options were cream-heavy, which I can’t tolerate—but I appreciated the creativity of the offerings.
Overall, La Forêt offers a refined and delicious experience, but if you’re going for a celebration or have specific dietary needs, it’s worth being extra clear with the staff. We’re grateful for the great food and stellar service from Tyler—just wished the occasion had felt a...
Read moreI’ll start with the good, the drinks. I had the coco vert and the la forêt both had well balanced flavors. The La Forêt was definitely on the stronger side. Overall the taste and value were good.
I feel like our waiter was still new, he said something that was questionable. He mentioned that the plates were shareable. Which is just not true. We ordered the baked brie which came with 3 crackers and a small roll. We were a group of 4 so 3 of us got a cracker and the roll kind of got split up. Thats $5 for a cracker with cheese. Not very shareable and not a good value. Next we had the artichoke, once again not shareable. It tasted dried out with barely any “meat” on the leaves. Since we were told this was shareable I got all of 1/4 of the heart. If you make artichokes at home this one will be disappointing.
Lastly, I ordered the maitake mushroom. The flavors were great. Small portion.
The atmosphere was pleasant I like the natural decor with plants and trees, most everything left over from the previous residents Beatrice and Woodsley. The added reclaimed wood trees just miss the mark in my opinion as quality art pieces. The wood used looks like Home Depot faux reclaimed wood. As a high end specialty contractor I’m probably one of the few people to even notice this type of thing.
I may seem like I’m nitpicking, but I feel like La Forêt is the kind of place that focuses on the small details and expects their guests to appreciate the quality over quantity mind set. To me La Forêt didn’t feel like its own concept, but rather a pop up bar in Beatrice and Woodsley. Overall I would say this is a 4/5 star bar, but I don’t think I will be returning so I knocked...
