Update ... We gave another shot and it was worse. Food is flavorless it has gotten worse than the first time we tried it out... and very expensive! 8 street tacos and a queso fundido with 3 tortillas for more than $ 70 dlls, that's crazy. I would pay that if the food was worth it but it is not... not a good service either, plus adding gratuity when you don't have a server, that's abusive and very Smart for them.
If you wanna go and have some drinks there, it's a really nice place for that, we loved the decor but too bad that the food is awful.
I miss when they had the foodtruck, tacos were so good back then. ........................................... Barbacoa tacos were tasteless, al pastor tacos were average , shrimp tacos were missing flavor, baja tacos were good. I didn't like at all that they Barely put grilled onions on them, you could Barely see it, I mean onions are one of the most important part of a taco, and if you don't have enough grilled onions then put raw onions, just don't say that it comes with onions when you put on them 3 little squares in each taco. Elote on the cob was good, and churros were good too. As a Mexican City Girl, I would say that La calle taqueria are way so much better and a little cheaper... don't Believe when an American says that the tacos are great in a place, because they can't compare tacos when they haven't tried the best tacos in the world- México City. Also, be aware that they charge you the 10 % of gratuity on take out and delivery, and... 18% of gratuity if...
Read moreGonna start with the food was very good. That’s the redeeming quality of this place. I had the enchiladas verdes, chips and salsa, and a marg. Came out to $40 in the end just me with no server/service despite the mandatory 18% service fee. You can tell they take pride in their food.
In terms of the rest of the experience, I didn’t realize it was counter serve type service and then waited 30 minutes for my food. Granted it was a Friday, but for a counter service type place I was surprised. It took about 5 minutes for them to take my order. Also, you have to order drinks at the SAME counter/register you order food? That’s what they told me. That line is so long and inconvenient I didn’t end up ordering any other drinks as it took 15 mins to get my first one (not exaggerating). Seems like a missed opportunity on their part to have a separate bar line and make more sales.
Aside from that, the food was very delicious so will be coming back at a less inconvenient time for them where food comes out at a reasonable time as I enjoyed it a lot.
If the food is all that matters to you then you’ll probably like this place. As far as drinks, experience and service they don’t have that nailed. Expect to wait a lot on...
Read moreSo the place looked like it would be good. We went in for a short lunch before taking my friend to DIA. The young man who was working was far from pleasant.. He took our order , he was very dry and just not someone you'd want taking your order.
We got margarita that tasted like they dumped lime juice in a cup of ice and splashed it with a drop of teq. The like was so heavy we couldn't finish the drinks. But hey we were excited for the carne asada fries. That was something we shouldn't have done. We got them and expected them to be smothered as it says they come with green chili. Welp that was a literal shot glass full of what they called green chili. This was a shot glass of MORE lime juice with meat and maybe tomatoes? Idk but it was not pork green chili. Then I get about halfway through my fries and find a hair in my mouth tangled up in my meat 🤬. I take the hair to the young man and he asks what I want them to do about it? Ummmm idfc what u do about it, at this point I'm mad, in grossed out and my mouth tastes like a lime bath.
So if you are looking for GOOD Mexican food/drinks DONT GO HERE. But if you want to sit down and FEEL like the place is going to be good and be heavily disappointed, Then this...
