the L — Restaurant in Denver

Friends and I were here for a girl's night, and honestly, it was an excellent experience. We had a group of 12 so I reached out a few weeks beforehand via the website to see if we could do reservations, and was contacted by the owner, Adam.

Adam immediately offered table reservations, checked in with us on the day of, and once we showed up, even sent us a round of shots. The staff was also great, with prompt service at the bar, and quickly clearing our empty glasses from our table, and the drinks were excellent, decently priced, and fun. Our group loved the variety in creative drinks and there was something for everyone.

There was a singles event that was occuring at the same time, but it didn't conflict with our group and low-key made for fantastic people watching. The DJ afterwards was also super entertaining - they brought physical records! - and some of our group decided to go dance to the music.

Overall, a fantastic night spent at the L, and I will definitely recommend this place to...

Plot twist: pOne of the bartenders heard me talking about the completely accurate review, below, and then proceeded to cuss me out, and then kick me out in a very threatening manner before I could even close the tab. He then proceeded to make excuses about it being the busiest night of the year (it wasn’t that busy - like October 21??? - and if that’s the case…PREPARE). He then said that I “had been snotty all night.” We had been there for 20 minutes and weren’t even finished with our second round. I as a patron have every right to voice my review and opinion, that’s the whole concept behind online reviews. Don’t like it? Get better. I have never been treated that horribly, ever.

Dude, the biggest joke. A dirty martini without olives? A margarita without lime and salt? Out of Chambord, out of pickle shots, out of the cruel summer specialty cocktail, out of the frozen tequila drink, out of Malort… then attitude from the bartenders? LAUGHABLE. And don’t get me started on the playlist. Go...

As far as drinks are concerned, this place deserves more than 5 stars. My husband and I stumbled upon it when it first opened and we have been back many times since. I'm constantly blown away by the consistency in the drinks, but also in the creativity behind the recipes. My one complaint is that I think they could improve the inside decor (mostly, the tables and chairs, but I'm hoping that comes as they establish themselves). The beautiful mural by the bunny M on the inside wall is breathtaking and should be accompanied by a lounge-style vibe, in my opinion. Highly recommend this place for drinks with the girls, for a date, for bringing out-of-town guests, or if you just want the best...
