Wooden Spoon Cafe and Bakery ⁃ $11.25 for sausage egg and cheddar w/ my additional toppings of hash brown. Would have been $10.50 without hash brown. Little pricey but they have a lot of customizability which is like ⁃ The process of picking this up was a little bit confusing but thats on me for it being a first timer here. I ordered pick up and it was a little crowded inside and the main cashier wasn’t really giving me instructions as I stood awkwardly to the side. Then someone else came in and picked up from the pick up shelf in back of the store. TL;DR: walk back and grab it or ask someone if theyre paying attention but don’t stand around waiting for someone to ask you if you ordered for pickup ⁃ The sandwich itself: honestly great. I thought the sausage was good quality, egg was nicely cooked, and the cheese was cheesy. Bread was great - among the better brioche buns I’ve had on a breakfast sandwich. Makes sense, they probably bake it in house and the rest of their baked goods/pastries looked incredible. I threw a hash brown in there and it was a welcome addition. ⁃ I’m giving this one an 8/10. Would be great if they had some hot sauce but this sandwich probably had the best meat out of all the places I’ve been so far. ⁃ Also worth noting I didnt give this a super fair shout as I picked it up about 30 minutes late. 100% my fault and the sandwich was still really good. If I lived nearby, I’d happily make this my Saturday...
Read moreThis cute, tiny bakery/cafe offers breakfast and lunch--mostly takeout. Seating is pretty limited. There are breakfast sandwiches, eggs, quiche, coffee, tea, espresso, and other drinks, lots of lunch sandwiches, and a wide variety of pastries.
I am oblivious to all of these tasty items as I am totally obsessed with their scones. I was first introduced to the scones by a friend who discovered this bakery while working in the neighborhood. She would occasionally bring me one as a treat, but was cagy about the source.
I finally got the whole story and have been frequenting Wooden Spoon ever since. The scones come in blueberry, raspberry, or blackberry lemon. All are delicious. I developed a deep appreciation for scones when I worked in the UK. These are as delightful as any I have ever tasted.
Be aware, this is a tiny shop and very popular. There is usually a long line unless your timing is very fortunate. There's a good online ordering system on the Web site. It's much more convenient to order in advance. You then skip the line, go down the alley on the west side of the building, and ring the bell at the side door. Your order will magically appear. Try to avoid gobbling it all on...

I was very disappointed at first and had to give a quick review cause it was so disappointing . In full the experience wasn’t the worst but the service was bad and the food, half due to the service and half due to the quality, was bad. For service we ordered 2 pastries with there special sandwich. The sandwich was going to take a while so we intended to eat the pastries while we waited. They offered the pastries be warmed up. So we said yes and didn’t expect it to take too long. We sat and waited for 25 minutes to get the sandwich and the whole time the pastries didn’t come out. Instead they all came out together and the pastries had been warmed up but by the time we got them they were room temperature again. The cinnamon bun had dried up. The sandwich came out and had a great bun, eggs were cooked in a big block style, and the special sausage was spicy and had an overwhelming flavor so the rest of the elements of the sandwich were drowned out. It was disappointing for the price and for the individual quality of in the menu to have come out...
