My partner, who lives a block away, and I decided to get coffee at the downtown location during a busy time. When we thought we heard our name called, we asked Leo, the person behind the bar. His response was extremely brash and rude - essentially dismissing the question. When we were still uncertain, we decided to ask his colleague. He cut her off, not allowing her to speak. So, our uncertainty remained.
As one of very few Black customers in the entire establishment, we hadn't seen anyone else treated in the manner. We understand being under pressure, but no customers should ever be treated harshly for inquiring about an order.
