5 stars for the live music. 3 for the food. 1 for the service.
I've been before, but this is the first time I've ordered anything.
Every time I've attended has been on a Thursday night and the band they have playing is amazing. They do jazz inspired covers of pop and r&b songs and the musicianship is world class. It's plenty loud, but you should expect that. Dont go to a place with live music to have a conversation.
On my most recent visit I ordered food, the Flood's Sampler and the steak appetizer. It took forever to put in my order and the woman who took it acted like it was a major inconvenience. (There were a number of people there but it was far from packed.) It took almost an hour for my food to arrive, and when it did, I had to chase her down to get her to give it to me. After I started eating, I realized I did not have the correct food. The sampler I ordered included chicken wings and there were no chicken wings on my plate. I flagged her down again, and asked where my wings were. She said "You ordered the seafood sampler it doesnt come with wings!" I said no I didnt, I ordered the Flood's sampler. She said "you have to talk to the kitchen", but then proceeded to grab my plate, Another 30-40 minutes later someone came back from the kitchen with the same plate, with all the other food removed from it, and just the wings on it.
As it turned out she also charged me for the more expensive item-- the Seafood Sampler.
If there had been anyone else there to talk to I would have asked for a refund on the spot. I am still tempted to call or dispute the charges with my credit card company since I never actually got what I ordered. It's the first time in the history of dining out that I have not left a tip.
The steak appetizer was bland and slightly tough. The catfish tenders were very good. The wings were ok. There was some sort of remoulade sauce on my plate, before she took it away, that was also very good.
I really want to support venues that support great live music which is why I'm still giving 3 stars. But they...
Read moreThe service in your establishment is awful! We went here today because we bought a Groupon that expired today. We were told by people your food is wonderful. We drove over 20 miles to be disappointed from beginning to end. We were not greeted for over 15 minutes and 3 waitresses and a bust boy walked passed us several times. We could never find our waitress once she took our order. She never even came back to ask us if we wanted refills on our water or soda, which we did we were thirsty. I asked for an extra side of yams that was never brought to the table, but we were charged for it. We gave her a screen shot of our Groupon because we could not get a signal for internet connection in your restaurant. We took a screenshot, before entering the establishment just in case our cellular internet connection would not work (better safe than sorry). Bad assumption because the manager accused us of trying to get over because we had a screenshot, even though his waitress saw that our cellular phone would not access the internet in the restaurant. She obviously scanned it because later she said it showed up as used. The manager, Charles, came to the table and accused us of using the Groupon multiple times and pretty much calling us thieves. We left there spending $45 when the Groupon should have covered it. To make matters worse we made it home and Groupon sent us an e-mail asking if we would recommend Flood's, which this e-mail comes out the minute the Groupon is used, at 9:10p.m. This was the time we were in your establishment. At 9:15p.m. we were being called thieves and liars by your management. The customer service starting with your waitress to your management was...
Read moreThe only reason I did not give this establishment five stars is due to the older African-American guy working valet who was very rude and curt, I politely asked for instructions about the valet parking, he gave snarky responses, instead of informing me of the price of valet when I asked initially, he told me to drive all the way around back to the entrance, then he decided to quote the price, kept telling me that the sign was "there" and I asked him you couldn't read the sign to me, I could not read the sign from where I was parked, since I was on the opposite side facing Lafayette. He came to open the door for my friend on the passenger side, then when he came to my side, the driver side, he stood there, did not open the door and when I get out of my vehicle he demanded that ten dollars was required upfront, so I told him my friend was paying the fee, he had a short response "well I didn't know", I just came to have a nice time, not be mistreated or disrespected by a man l never met nor disrespected in any way, despite how he spoke and treated me. The guy was confrontational during the entire encounter, so it gave me the impression that he was treating me based on how I appeared ,which does not validate or justify his unruliness. He was the only encounter that I was not pleased with, I did not understand why he was so rude to me, when I was being polite to him.. My friend invited me to this place after her job, from the guy checking ID, the two servers, and the patrons were extremely nice and friendly, I truly enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and drinks were delicious, the price is a little hefty, but I understand it's a bar and it was a...
