The servers and staff were wonderful and very friendly. I’m pretty sure we were ask by at least half a dozen people how we were and if everything was alright. But sadly the food quality and menu was much less so. Players used to be very good, a little on the more expensive end but the portions used to be pretty decent and the food was delicious. This last time however the prices were the same, but the portions were smaller and not nearly as good.
Something else I wasn’t a huge fan of was how there menu didn’t match what they actually offer anymore. With my meal I ordered just regular fries, and specifically requested them not to be crinkle-cut (I know this seems a little picky but on the menu they had listed a couple different types of fries available so being specific was slightly required) but when they came out, they were crinkle-cut and when I asked about it, they said that they only carry those kind of fries now. It was kinda only a minor issue but it would be nice if they updated their menu to reflect what they actually offer, or at least tell me when I’m ordering so I can adjust my order if I needed to (because again, I had specifically said not crinkle-cut).
The final thing that was kinda annoying was when it came time to pay. The server brings a hand-held machine to your table, slides your card, and then hands you it to sign and tabulate the tip, all while waiting at the table. I by no mean am trying to make it sound like this was the server’s fault, because it appeared that this was how they did it at every table, however this puts a lot of pressure to try and determine the tip especially when they only give 3 predetermined amounts (22, 20, or 18%) Plus another “other” option but when they are waiting for you it’s hard to figure out the math on the spot so most people (myself included) ended up having to choose one of the...
Read moreWe had a party of 6, which included 2 younger kids. We sat at the closest table to the kitchen entrance (on the dining room side) along the north wall of the restaurant which has the wall length bench seating.
CONS: -Due to our proximity to the kitchen where the dirty dishes would be collected, it could get ear-splittingly loud. This is the ONLY reason I gave 4 stars. I never actually saw the dishes which was great but wow we could all hear them!
-It's pricier than other bar & grill joints but that wasn't enough to take away a star because the pros (listed below) outweighed the higher prices.
PROS: -Our waitress, Rocky (which wasn't the name on our receipt but I'm not going to reveal what that name was), was upbeat, smiling, and happy every time she came to our table. She was consistently on top of taking care of us. The service she provided is exactly what I expect when dining out, no matter what restaurant it is. She earned respect and a top spot in my book!
-I'm assuming he was a manager, I didn't get his name, also stopped by our table to make sure everything was as we'd expect, which it was. I see this as a big deal. It shows management actually cares about their customers experiences. That kind of management tends to have a trickle down effect on the rest of the staff, which showed during our visit.
-The food was really good. My uneaten half of enchilada (that thing was gigantic, it'll definitely fill you up!) will provide me with another meal later on. Everyone else I was with was also satisfied with their food. There were absolutely no issues with our food.
-The atmosphere and cleanliness were good, no problems there. None of us used the bathroom so I can't vouch for that.
Overall, it was a fantastic visit. The ear-splitting dish noise was the only issue any of us...
Read moreHave been here a few times for food. First time years ago it was miserable. This time around the food was edible but that's the extent. Stacy or Stacie the event manager and Wayne are the only good thing about my second experience. My opinion but I am not sure how anyone would like the food here. Just that nobody knows what good food is in this state. Updating again as the food quality keeps going down hill. You CAN'T serve pizza that if cooked right would be very good but since the dough was still RAW, show the manager, and never asked if I wanted a new one just says I am sorry and never even offers more than that for a $20+ pizza. I have given this place several chances throughout the past couple years and it always disappoints for food. ALWAYS. 2 stars because on and off the people that work there are friendly so 2 stars is even a stretch. Ah hell with it 1 star. Haaaa they don't deserve any more than that. AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW THEIR FOOD CONTINUES TO SUCK. May 16th 2025. Once in a while I will see if it changes. NOT A CHANCE. 🤣🤣 Fish fry served with no lemon or tarter sauce to go. Extra 20 minute wait on top of the 30 monute wait. Fish tasted like it was marinated in rotten lemon, loaded mashed potatoes were charged extra for were loaded with extra spices. 🤮 And the cole slaw was warm and smelled like rubbing alcohol. This place sucks period and doesn't do anything right even after having given kt chances for the past 9 years. I wonder how many managers and staff they have gone through. Oddly when I was in the industry we had people come and go, but had the core people there for my whole 3.5 year tenure and didn't have that much turnover of staff during that time. This place needs to figure things out but if the junk people of ND like it keep...
