Upon entering this location the smell of good ol smoked ribs just smacks yah right in the face. Haven't had Dickeyes in years and decided to give it a shot. I got the rib plate which consisted of 6 bones, 2 sides, and a dinner roll, a drink is NOT included in the meal. The ribs were ok along with the fresh out of the oil fries! However, the ribs were about room temperature and were not hot at all which wasn't the norm at other locations so I was a little disappointed about that. I didn't want to make a fuss about it. To continue, from a customer's view.... behind the counter is 😳😳😳, ill let yall figure that part out. But it was a turn off and it actually did make me question whether or not if I actually wanted to eat my meal and what was the DPH score. I hope you guys have a moment and really go over some things behind the counter, especially the ceiling and floor. Sometimes it takes reviews like this to make a business take action. I wish this location the best and hope you guys thrive in business but unfortunately I will not be back. Take care....... Response to the owner, everything I've mentioned in the initial review is the problem. The cleanliness is a complete turn off. The food served needs to be higher than room temp, things like that. I hope you guys take these things into consideration.

I don't know what they gave me but it wasn't sliced brisket. I waited past my pickup time after scheduling an order early that morning for pickup that evening and was only given one of my plates I ordered. Then when I called back to let them know, they said they would make it so I could come back. I ended up going in after it was supposed to be a curbside order and they were looking through thrash trying to find the receipt when I could have just showed them the email. Instead of making my order, they were trying to figure out what it was when I told him several times exactly what I ordered. Then when I asked for a refund instead of them making my missing food, he gave me back the change from ringing something else up because a 2 meat plate is more than the $16 and some change he gave me but I was just tired of explaining to two people who just didn't get it. Now I'm mad because I tipped on a Togo order with horrible service and I'm out <$30 on some food I couldn't even eat. I don't know if this is pork or what but I didn't eat it because this isn't sliced brisket. The piece over to the right is what I picked up to look at but this is what I saw the first time I opened it up. They weren't even busy. I came here after a recommendation and drove 40 mins from Dallas but I won't be back. Ever.

I love to find restaurants that try to go outside the norm. There is a good mix of traditional here as well as creativity. My initial impression was based on the dismal lighting when I walked in I thought they were closed. I thought I made a mistake coming here. The staff wasn't as welcoming as I thought they should be. I had to assert myself to get a recommendation. The gentleman behind the counter recommended the brisket. What an amazing choice it was. Flavor out the Ying yang and so moist! No sauce was needed for the meat. I also had baked beans and green beans. Both had a special twist in flavor. The green beans were very peppery and set me off a bit at first. Then I realized I had eaten them all and I wanted more. The baked beans were slightly firmer than I'm used to. Spices were kicking and abundant. I loved both. This place had an awkward start but I'll recommend and revisit this location.

I've been coming here since this restaurant was established at this location, a few years ago. The food is always great, and I never have any complaints. The entrees and meats are probably my favorite within the area, and the dinner rolls are just simply amazing! But that's not the only reason why I come back - that's only half of it - I always find myself coming back because of the awesome service. There have been many cooks(?) and servers who have worked here - each of them were good people that have been pretty pleasant to talk to, at least in my experience.

The newest cook (Franklin) is definitely among the nicest of all of them (no shade towards anybody else). He's always very kind, and I always see him talking to his customers about all sorts of things while he's whipping up their food - really sociable and pleasant guy. If I were the owner, I'd bend over backwards to keep him around - you'd be genuinely stupid to let a guy like this go. Big kudos to him, as well as the guy with the afro!

With that said, I believe that food attracts the customer, but the service keeps them around. Dickey's has kept me around for years - it's been one of my go-to BBQ spots. I recommend it to anyone looking to try something new, and definitely if you see the guy with the waves and beard, definitely be sure to leave a nice tip. You'll know why once you meet him!

Edit: I haven't been back in a little while as I've been trying to eat healthier, but I just found out that my buddy Franklin has unfortunately parted ways with the company. It truly makes me sad that I probably won't ever see him again, but I wish him the absolute best in his future! Apparently he's gotten himself a great job, so if that's the case, while I will miss him, I'm also very...

Decided to get take out here so I chose the curbside pickup option the food came out in a timely manner so that was good. But when I get home to look at the food. Online the have a loaded baked potato pictured but when I looked at my food I had what looked like loaded mashed potatoes. I love baked potatoes so I drove bake to get my baked potatoe which is a 20 minute drive. On top of this my wife's root beer tastes like seltzer water. So when I get back to the restaurant the guy behind the counter tells me that they don't have a actual baked potato that this is what they serve for $10 and that it's the corporate people that does this. My thing is if it's not a baked potato why advertise it as one. If I know that I would of got something else besides this loaded mash mess I was given. Inside the restaurant its very dim lighting in there which is horrible and I looked behind the counter it's a filthy mess with old outdated oven equipment. Dust and grease everywhere 🤢 just nasty. By the time I got back home my food was cold had to microwave it a few. My ribs tasted ok but they don't take the back membrane off their ribs so I comes off when you bite your ribs which I don't like plus on top of that it tastes like they use liquid smoke on the ribs🤢. The pulled pork and brisket was very dry and hard to chew. Food cost too much to not enjoy I'll just fire my own grill up next time now I remember why I had eating out I won't be...

Updating my original 5-star review to 1 star.

Unfortunately, this location has reached a point of no return for our family. We will not be back. Our order was supposed to be ready at a certain time, and despite arriving 10-15 minutes late, it still wasn't ready. Half the order was wrong or missing, and even when we left, it remained incorrect.

The interior of the restaurant is very hot, with boxes stacked all over the tables, making it look cluttered. It's also very dark inside, and the menu has handwritten prices, duct tape covering items, and handwritten notes taped all over. The food was rubbery, fatty, and tasteless. We ordered a 2-meat plate but were missing one of the meats, which we only found out after asking, as they were out of that meat. They were out of brisket, out of wings, and out of turkey.

The "Texas toast" was just a plain, dethawed roll that seemed like it had been sitting in the fridge since Thanksgiving. It was nothing like real Texas toast. Additionally, they forgot our onions, pickles, and silverware in our pickup order, and we eventually gave up asking for all the missing items. They also gave us the wrong sauces, which we only discovered too late. When we went to eat the "pulled pork" it wasn't pulling apart-coke to find out it was cooked in or wrapped in plastic!! 🤬

Overall, the experience was highly disappointing and far from the quality...
