I just had the best steak ,I ever had ,at Jack's Place! Like: worldwide! Just wow! We didn't expect anything, cause of the magic dining menu. Sometimes the restaurants give you a smaller portion of the food , or they think you are " just tourists" and give you not the beste quality ( that's how I explain it to myself, why the food is sometimes really shitty and the portions are small? Idk) But at Jack's place everything was freaking perfect! The steak ! Omg! Never had a better one ( well, except when I made it , of course ! Lol) . Warm , delicious bread with butter and pesto ( it was pesto, right ? That green stuff ? Amazing!!!) . We had two different salads, one with crab meat . I actually don't like that, but I tried it anyway - next time I will order it for myself too, cause it was delicious! Not fishi at all. As main course we ordered 2 times the steak. It comes with potato gratain, Brokkoli and a carrot ( yeah, a single one . But a huge one .) no idea what the chef did to that veggies, but ( I know , boring vegetables, but those were sooooo good! The veggies were freaking amazing! So flavourful! We finished almost everything, except a bit of the salad and the bread. But the waiter ( I am so sorry buddy, I am terrible to remember names ) was so nice to give us boxes, so we packed the leftovers and had a lil lunch for the next day. He was so nice l, sweet and considerate. The service was wicked fast ( what I love! I hate it , when we have to wait super long for everything. We finished the whole meal in one hour something. 😊) We asked for the desert to go. We had the famous key lime pie ( the menu says it is famous...meh! ) Not a big fan of that famous key lime pie. And we had a chocolate mouse cake - ohhhh yeah! That one made me happy ! Looks like we found our new Steakhouse. We will definitely come back, right after the magic dining deal. Cause we need to discover more nice places...
Read moreIt is apparent Jack’s Place was once a busy high-profile establishment, but it appears it has lost its luster. The restaurant is filled with autographed caricatures of famous individuals which in this day and age seems out of place so needless to say a redesign is overdue. Our service was good; the wait staff was prompt and professional.
We started off with the calamari which appeared to be freshly cooked to perfection, however, the sauce just did not seem to go with it to me, but it was not bad. Next onto the entrees, which for a non-busy weekday night seemed to take too long to prepare. We had the Filet Mignon and Lamb Chops. My filet was cooked fine, but lacked any seasoning whatsoever. It was so underwhelming, I didn’t even finish it. Next the sides which came with the dish were equally uninspiring; mixed vegetables with no seasoning that were hard, and garlic mash potatoes that tasted as if they came out of a box. I will credit the chef for attempting to season the potatoes, but the garlic powder did not mask the distinct taste of potatoes from a box. My friend’s lamp chops were cooked well, but again lacked any seasoning and the sides were equally as unimpressive.
For dessert we had the crème brulee and triple chocolate cake. My friend liked the brulee, but my cake was totally off. It tasted weird to me as if it was old so I took one bite and was done. Thankfully, the deserts were on the house, SMH. Overall, Jack’s Place did not live up to the hype. I simply cannot recommend this place due to the lack of seasoning and outdated menu, especially for the price. Hopefully, with some refreshes this place can regain its footing in...
Read moreMy husband & I went on a Friday night with another couple. We are local's and went to try the "magical Dining" experience. The restaurant was kind of small, but the atmosphere was nice. The staff was very friendly, and place seemed very clean. I thought it kind of odd that restrooms were out in the hallway. As for the food, I got the ahi tuna as my appetizer & it was wonderful, but I just wish there was more than only 3 slices. Everyone at the table got the Filet Mignon and we all agreed that the texture was fabulous, but it was lacking flavor. It needed seasoning, I should not have to add salt and pepper to my steak. I’m not a fan of clam chowder, but I tried my husbands, and it was delicious. We both added on enhancements to our meals. We got the scallops that were cooked perfect, and they got the Oscar-crab as a topper, but it came out a little delayed and then also was not fresh, so they sent it back. As for the desserts, I got the choc. Torte, that was more like a moose in texture and very rich in flavor – pairs great with the gelato. Overall, we had a great night until we went to leave. We asked our waitress if they comp. the valet charge and she said she would take care of it for us. Once outside my whole experience went from pretty good to awful. The valet guy was trying to be shady and say that we owed money. He asked us for cash, which I thought was odd since the person before us staying at the hotel used a card to pay. We tipped on the way in & we were going to tip again on the way out. He was rude and made me not want to go back to the restaurant. So, I caution you if trying the place be careful and make sure they are...
