My party and I agreed that this was the worst Mexican restaurant we have ever been to specifically because the food was simply not good. We got the combo platter, parrillada for two. The beef was absolutely disgusting with an odd chemical taste. The pork had absolutely no flavor at all. Chicken was cooked well. Shrimp was ok but not great. Overall, nothing was seasoned well and nothing had any flavor except for the nasty beef. I can't beging to tell you how disgusting and off-putting that beef was. Even this chips were bland. Service was average at best and the waiter never came back to refill drinks or water. One odd experience here was that I stood up to leave and someone immediately came over to tell me to sit down. Confused, I told him I was leaving. He started explaining that I couldn’t leave because a show was about to start and I had to sit for safety reasons. I didn’t and just left but it was an odd experience. If you’re going to keep people there or require them to sit, you should probably tell them in advance, not seconds before the show starts. Keep in mind, people coming to your restaurant, don't even know you have shows, so it's odd to assume they're going to know to comply with your schedule. I see in your reviews that it's some kind of "fire show". My recommendation to management -- focus on your food and stop worrying about entertainment. The food needs so much help that anything else shouldn't even be considered before that's given attention. What was very clear about this restaurant is that they don’t care at all about quality food and they’re just making money on tourist who they know will show up either way. Generally, I would describe the food as “gross” and the overall experience as “unpleasant”. Will never repeat even if you paid me. I try to be absolutely honest in my reviews and post both positive and negative, but I absolutely hated this restaurant and it was an...
Read moreWent there for “Happy Hour” at the bar. We got our bill and our half priced draft beers were rung up as bottle beer. Assumed the bartender just made a mistake so questioned the bill. She said the price was still correct and we received half off. I told her that meant draft beers were normally $13 each. She said that was correct. Another server came over and said they couldn’t adjust the bill only the manager could. He kept telling me it wasn’t a mistake the manager had to change the bill. Eventually they changed the price without a manager. The gentleman at the bar stool next to us heard us and questioned his bill for his “happy hour” margarita which was also rung up incorrectly. We go to International Drive 3-4x a year. First and last time here. I’m fine paying whatever is listed or the marked prices. I don’t appreciate having to make sure I don’t get taken advantage of. I also don’t like that our Florida guests possibly get take advantage of.
I know they rely on tourist business so maybe repeat business is not needed but just not a nice way to run a business in my humble opinion.
Regarding the owner reply; Our bill showed we ordered 3 bottles of Modelo beers totaling $19.50. I questioned if that was the happy hour price and was repeatedly told yes. Three beers @ $6.50 is where I came up with the $19.50 since we were told $19.50 was the half price discount. Another employee came over and kept telling me the only way to get the happy hour discount was to tell a manager. I had to ask more than once to ask a manager to give us the discount to get them to refund the difference which they finally did via cash. Regarding the gentleman next to us, his bill had one happy hour margarita that was rung up incorrectly and he had to have them change his bill. We were there at 5:22 pm on 11/20/24. Table #998 at the bar. On a positive note we have been to Opa many times in the past without any...
Read moreLet me start off by saying I work in the service industry so what I’m about to say comes from experience! This was my first time here and will be my last! We came 3 of us at the bar Friday at 6pm April 11 2025. Just to give you an idea of how unsatisfying this first time experience was we left there and went somewhere else while I write this review! Took awhile to be greeted no biggie tho that happens. Once we got our drinks we asked questions about the menu. I asked if I could have sautéed onions instead of raw and I was told he didn’t think they could do that! I’m like “can you ask?” He comes back says “no raw onions right?!” I said yes tacos come out without them. I asked him about it and he says “so you want sautéed onions?” Ummmm yes I want what I asked for or I would have gotten something else. So he ask them to cook them. We had to ask for silverware! When I started to eat my rice and beans the rice was hard! After 10mins my onions some out I take a bite of one and it taste like fake meat mush not carne asada! But nobody came by to even ask how everything was! Never got refills on my water! My girl wanted to order lobster tacos told him she had a question he said give him a minute and never came back!! We flagged him down just for her to order something to go. Clearly we decided to leave after that. Asked for checks separate and was told they need a manager swipe waited another 10-15 mins for that! Listen I get y’all in a tourist area and bank on guest never returning which is why the service and the food is the way it is! But I promise you I work for a company that does higher numbers and is more high volume and bigger than you guys and we can still handle our stuff with quality food and service!!! If ya’ll wanted to be taco bell just...
