AMAZING Place, not so great people.
I came to andretti park Sunday June 30th, 2024 from 9pm - 12pm close.
First I will talk about the great, cause it really isn’t a bad place.
Walking in we were greeted by Alex, awesome guy who helped us understand basically how the rhythm of the VIP pass was going to go and what we should do first and how to best execute the full park experience in the time we had.
Next while walking around the park when we got dehydrated we headed to the regular bar and was greeted by an awesome guy I can’t remember his name but he had an awesome haircut like prince, dark skin male and a amazing personality, i only mention this cause he deserves the recognition, and was 2/3 of the only good workers we experienced while visiting the park.
For the third worker we also didn’t catch her name but she was working the 7D XTREME RIDE, we rode the clown coaster I think she had curly hair with highlights but she was pretty cool too and showed us how everything on the ride worked and helped us settle in great even though it didn’t require much instruction.
Now here comes the disappointment,
I’ll start in order, after go karting, we headed to the Hyperdeck, great ride but there was no instructions on what was going to happen what to look out for, how to adjust the headset incase of anything, half of the time the screen went blurry, my wife was seeing a half white half game, just disappointing cause it’s our first time we don’t just assume that everything was fine the way it was.
now lets get to the actual disappointment.
Hologate and Racing Simulator
Starting with Hologate, no instructions on what was going on, headset wasn’t on properly kept on slipping down (I had glasses+ not first time using vive vr), probably just a worn out adjuster but it sucked to have to hold the headset with one hand and the gun with the other, but then that making an attachment to the gun unclip that held the controller in the gun, then making me have to hold the gun from the controller, just a uncomfortable experience and Im pretty sure the dude saw and didn’t offer to help cause I was clearly holding the headset the whole time. It just seemed like no one wanted to be there which is sad cause ya’ll literally work in a fun zone, even if its not experiencing it, people around you are there to have as good as a time as you are when you go as a guest.
Racing Simulator -
This was honestly the worst experience and I was so disappointed cause it was the one I was most excited for. The guy said about 3 total words to us and started the race before we even finished adjusting our seats, wasn’t able to catch the instructions cause I didn’t even know we were starting, when it did start the map looked like it was a training track, I thought we would get to get a feel of the controls first and then the race would start but nope, just right into it, maybe that’s just how it is.
Also forgot to mention in the go karting the kart in front of us wasn’t working so we didn’t get to race with the other players instead got stuck behind some folks who would hit the WIDEST SLOWEST turns but thats just unfortunate wasn’t nobody’s fault. (i know its by time but being behind everyone defeats the race purpose especially getting caught behind the last places.)
TLDR:
only 3 people guided us and helped around the park. Go karting was unfortunate, Hologate, Hyperdeck, and Racing Sim were all disappointing cause nobody instructed us on how to do anything and some of the VR headsets weren’t great. Honestly for 200$ (2 VIP Packages) it was a great deal considering where we’re from they don’t have a dave n busters on steroids (andretti park), but I hope ya’ll either put some more love into your workers or get a new batch for the night crew. No point in working at a park industry if you’re going to hate your job. I know we all have bad days, but it’s crazy when almost everyone there is having a bad day.
First Time, not so great, im sure the second time will be amazing since at least we’ll know what we have to do. Also no, it was not...
Read moreFamily of 5 went along, for context we are a karting family and have been to a lot of karting places in many countries. The place is very flashy and although we didnt play the arcades it looked great. The bar, restaurant and bowling all looked great but again, we were there to kart not the other bits. Also the memorabilia and indycars around the place is great.
My youngest child did the mini mario karts and totally loved it. He is 4 and this was his first experience and it was wonderful. Kart was appropriate for him and staff helpful. He had the best time.
My eldest two have done a bit of karting but were not old / tall enough for the more powerful ones. They did the junior karts which were fine but they came off a bit disappointed with the track and speed. If your kids have done some petrol or more powerful electric karts they will be disappointed. The junior karts are pretty slow and the track a bit simple.
I booked on to an adult race. Equipment and prep was all good and the track looked great. When I set off the kart felt very slow, but I assumed this was a slow yellow flag first pace lap. The pace stayed slow for another 3 ish laps, not just me but for all other karts. After 4 laps the karts were clearly moved to a higher setting and came alive. Pace was good and the track was interesting. Sadly a couple of yellow flags meant I only got a half lap at full speed before a couple of spins slowed everyone down again. Track went green again and I got another half lap at full speed before time up. So for my $30 I got 4 laps at very gentle speed (full throttle even on tight hairpins) and 2 half laps at full speed between yellow flags. No complete lap at anything like full pace.
I spoke to staff at the end about why so long at slow speed and they denied that the pace was slow for more than 1 lap. He then suggested looking at the data to prove this, which we did. He said that because my laps times were very average as compared to a typical punter it proved there was no issue with the karts. The fact I was a lot faster than everyone else in the race meant I won and I should be happy with that. There was no data about when settings on the karts were changed. I was able to point out that one of my laps was far faster than the others, evidence that possibly the performance of the kart was better for some of that lap, he said my math didnt make sense.
I was encouraged to speak to management, which I did. I was offered another free session but declined. I wasn't complaining to get things for free but in order to help improve their product. If you are only giving customers 7 minutes on a kart, and they pay for adult karts, they need to be given 7 minutes at the capacity of those karts. If I want the slower karts I can hire the intermediate ones and have my pace limited. If they are worried people won't handle the faster karts, make them do a race on the slower ones first.
I should also mention that although you can view the mini Mario's and junior karts it is hard to view the other tracks. You can see parts from the bar but the reflection from the skylight above in the day means you see little. Even without that you only parts of one track.
It's very flashy and lots going on there but it seems like that karts is not the focus of this business. There are far better places to kart for those who are not fussed about arcades, bars etc. For serious karting people I would go elsewhere. For a day of arcades, bowling, beers and a bit of go karts, I am sure its fine.
Thought all day about writing this review as I am not one to complain but I think people who like to kart should have warning to avoid this place, the karting is not the...
Read moreWe recently visited Andretti Indoor Karting & Games for the first time, and overall, it was a very fun and unique experience for our family, especially our son, who had an absolute blast!
From the moment we walked in, the staff set a positive tone for the day. The young woman who checked us in was very kind, polite, and helpful. It seemed like she may have been new or still in training, but she handled everything with a smile and a great attitude. She didn’t hesitate to ask for assistance when needed and made sure we had all the information we needed. We really appreciated her willingness to go the extra mile, and her commitment to good customer service didn’t go unnoticed. Sometimes, it’s not about having all the answers, but knowing how to find them and she did just that.
Our son loved every part of the experience! The indoor kart track was a big hit. It’s not every day you find an indoor karting setup that feels this exciting, and it definitely added a level of novelty we hadn’t seen elsewhere. The laser tag arena was also well-designed and action-packed, our son was completely immersed. And the 7D theater ride was a thrilling surprise. It was interactive, immersive, and honestly better than we expected. These three experiences alone made the visit well worth it.
As with many entertainment centers and arcades, the environment was lively and loud, but surprisingly, it wasn’t overwhelming. Despite the typical arcade buzz and energy, we were still able to enjoy ourselves without feeling overstimulated. The layout of the space helps keep things moving and organized, which we appreciated.
One point worth mentioning, the crowd on the day we visited was not the most family-friendly in terms of attire and presentation. While we understand it’s a casual environment, we were surprised by the number of guests dressed inappropriately for a family setting. One individual, in particular, was wearing an outfit that was extremely revealing, and several others seemed to treat the venue like a nightclub rather than a family entertainment center. While this didn’t ruin our visit, it was a little disappointing considering how family-oriented the activities are.
That said, the indoor kart experience is what truly sets Andretti apart from similar attractions. It’s not something you find everywhere, and for that reason alone, it’s worth doing at least once. The track is well-maintained, the karts are responsive, and it’s a great mix of fun and adrenaline for both kids and adults.
Overall, we had a great time and appreciated the effort the staff put into making the experience smooth and enjoyable. With just a bit more attention to guest dress code or enforcement of a family-friendly atmosphere, this place would easily be a 5-star destination. We’ll likely be back again to try the arcade and maybe explore some of the other...
