The Spa at Hyatt Regency Orlando — Local services in Dr. Phillips

I arrived at the spa a little late for my appointment, but the staff was nice and accommodating. I was lead to the back by a lovely Polish woman as she explained the procedure. I was asked to put on a robe in the back then adjourn to the nearby lounge until my turn came.

I dawned my robe and was lead to another room where I was given an opportunity to take it off and lie on a massage table. The massage was highly relaxing and the music that was playing added to that effect. I was escorted back to the robe room and told I could stay until 8 and enjoy the hot tub and steam room in the back.

I partook of each and found them both to further my relaxing evening. However, the steam room behaved a little bizarrely. Instead of steaming up and then turning off the steam, the mechanism ran the entire time that the timer was engaged. This wouldn't have been so bad except that the device was deafening upon entering the steam room. It's possible that it was meant to be filled with steam and then entered, but that seems like poor design to be.

After a delightful shower, I redressed and headed for the front desk. I paid then left.

Overall, I had a wonderful time. I can't honestly say I had a time worth nearly $100, but the quality of service was...

The spa allow access to a private pool space which was nice, though its location puts you in complete shade with to sun at 3pm and it gets cold. The steam room was closed for construction during my time there. There is nothing to freshen up or get ready in the locker room. Like nothing but hand soap and paper towels. I had a pedicure and it was alright, nothing special at all. I let her know that my cuticles and nails were most important and the cuticles were still barely pushed back and hardly any filing was done. The massage was lack luster and rushed. I paid extra to have the fast drying polish and it had no shine to it and maybe needed a second coat of the top coat because it was almost matte. It also didn’t cover my entire nail so the shape looks warped. I had to soak my feet later in the evening to get the polish off my skin around the nail too. I was also taken back almost twenty minutes after my appointment. The service should have been fifty minutes and I was done in about half an hour. Aside from the time in the pool area, I would have been better going to a common nail salon. This wasn’t like other spa pedicure...

This spa is very pricey. If you're looking for a great massage I recommend going somewhere else for a better price. They do wonderful here, but you really come here for the amenities not just a massage. They provide you with robes, sandals, a lockable locker, towels, & drinks. The female & male locker rooms are separated. That's where the sauna, hot tub, & showers are. You have the option to be dressed or not in those areas. The coed spots are the outdoor hot tubs that look like hot springs, the waiting room, & the couples massage. It was a small space & raining, so I spent a ton of money for a couples retreat & essentially just sat in a shared room with other people waiting for our massage. The outside was closed due to weather & everything else I had to do separately from my partner. I've visited here as a singleton during conference week because it's directly across from the convention center. My recommendation is to go alone for a refresh during whatever you have going on at the convention center. The staff is exceptional &...
