Visiting from South Miami, my aunt invited us to brunch on Saturday at this place that she said she loved. We were a party of 4.
As you walk in the place is really pretty, and I loved the staff uniform. They also had live music and we loved the vibes.
My first red flag was that we ordered the “grilled octopus" and It had a strong vinager flavor. To be honest it wasnt that bad for me but is was not "grilled" as the menu says. It was more on “the boiled side”. My husband and aunt didnt like it.
After the octopus me and my husband were a little disappointed so we decided to share the Crab cake beneddict saying we were full so my aunt didnt feel bad. We ordered this from their online menu on Instagram because the picture caught our eyes. The reality is that it didnt event look similar; it was dry and my husband didnt like it because of the strong vinager flavor in the whole plate (I understand it can be from the egg but the flavor was even in the bottom sauce)
My aunt ordered the Denver scrambled and she said it was really good. I tried the hasbrowns and they were AMAZING!
On the other side, my uncle had the worst experience. He ordered the Smoked salmon tartine with an extra of poached eggs. When the food arrived they put in on the table and after everything was there we noticed the poached eggs were missing so we called the waitress and told her. She took the plate to the kitchen and came back with the same plate and a extra plate of 1 boiled egg because she said they dont do the poached egg.
First of all, your waitress should be trained to know the whole menu and what you can and cant cook. Second, when in doubt a “please let me see if the kitchen can do it” before taking the order will be more than good. Third, you dont come back after your mistake when we asked you for the missing product with a different product and saying “they make you a broiled egg because they dont do poached eggs” without you even asked if that guest like it that way which to be clear he doesnt. He hates boiled eggs (me too).
The big surprise was the long hair on his food (see the attached photo). So, you can imagine he didn't even want to eat anything after this so he returned his plate without even touch it. We saw another waitress (wasnt ours) and called her inmediately to show her. We took a picture in her presence before she take the whole plate.. He was so dissapointed that he didnt even want to try our plates. That was the "cherry on the top" to complete this bad experience.
After this, my uncle mentioned that the hair was from the guy who brings the food to the table and pointed out him at another table serving a large tray of food with long black hair on the shoulder. When we looked he was leaning the tray on his shoulder and his loose hair was hitting the tray. I couldn't eat anymore after that.
The manager came to us and apologize for everything. He came again with a poached egg that he said he did himself for my uncle, and said they were remaking his order, which you will understand he rejected as he didnt wanted to eat there. As our party talked later when we left; why you come to a table with just an egg that was an extra when you know he already returned the whole plate? the correct situation if you decided to make that egg would have been that you come to the table with his whole order. I believe that the situation could have be handle differently as the “bad experience” was already there.
We asked for the check and they gave us a 20% discount that we didn't ask for. We left a total of $80.
As you can understand “pretty place and great vibes” is not everything, so I will not recomend...
Read moreWe dined in at the Hampton Social for lunch. We arrived early to the restaurant before they even opened. They open at 1130am and a small group of about 30 pf us had been waiting. We were allowed to enter the restaurant at 11:36pm. We waited and checked in and advised the woman working at the hostess stand that we had a reservation and she took that info or so we thought. After almost twenty minutes we realized almost everyone had been seated except us so I inquiried about being seated. The hostess then got an attitude with me and rolled her eyes not once, but twice and then said I will seat you and then turned back around. Keeping in mind I came in at the same time as eveeyone else who was seated.
So the rude hostess seats us after another five minutes. Then we wait another 20 minutes before someone from the bar asks us if we want water. So, he was nice, we placed an order for water and oysters which I asked if they had a lot of brine which he said yes.
We were taken back by the the fact that the rest of our order wasn't taken. So anyhow the order for the oyster took about 25 minutes to come out and the oysters were in fact not bring at all. They actually had no flavor to them, no finish, nothing. So at this point we are wondering who is our waiter and when will we be able to order our actual food and drinks. We sat in the restaurant almost 45 minutes before an actual waitress came to our table to take our actual orders.
So, the food comes out and the salad is huge which is usually a plus. The salad looks great and I added lobster to it. I dig in and to my avail it has no real flavor. It's got a copious amount of green goddess dressing, cucumber, avacado, boiled eggs and what looked like cilantro. Everything had the same bland flavor. The lobster wasn't even seasoned.
My husband got the fish sandwich and side salad which he only ate half of because the fish and bread was soggy.
The frosé was just ok. It was served in a small cup and for almost 20$ after the added 18% bar tip it just wasn't doing much for me. I wouldn't advise getting it.
The unsweetened spiced mango black tea was the only thing I liked of the who entire meal. I absolutely understand peope come here for vibes and a good time, that's why I wanted to come here. This was a horrible experience! There were no vibes, there was no music even playing until 1 hr after the restaurant was open. We never saw our waitress again and we had to flag down the manager to get the bill so we could pay after we were waiting for 20 more minutes. We spent 2 hours in this restaurant which was not even full or even busy waiting and waiting and waiting. The service was so slow and there were atleast 8 servers, but all they seemed to be doing was walking around. Even the table next to us had to flag someone down so they could get their check.
So, there is a forced 18% tip and we had terrible service. You have to pay to park in the parking garage which is not validated also. I would not recommend this restaurant. The lunch menu is also very small.

Read moreWe visited The Hampton Social for the first time last night, and we had a great meal! This restaurant is New England-themed and is in the heart of all the action in I-Drive. It’s pretty loud inside, with even a DJ playing some music, so we sat outside and it was actually quite nice. Very pretty restaurant!
We ordered many different things: Starlet Espresso Martini, I Glitterally Can’t (cocktail), Grilled Octopus, Coopers Beach Calamari, Oyster St. Charles, Lobster Roll (Maine style), Baja Fish Tacos, Hampton Mac & Cheese, and the Donut Drops. Some things were exceptional, and some things could be a bit better. Here’s what we thought!
Drinks were really good. Super creative and presented very well. Really nothing more to say there - we definitely want to try the other cocktails on the menu! Regarding shareables, we would recommend skipping the calamari. It was a bit fishier tasting and just not as good as other calamari we’ve had. However, the octopus and oysters “St. Charles style” we’re exceptional! DEFINITELY two items you’ll want to try! If you like octopus, this will be one of the best you’ve had, and the oysters were ungodly good. Honestly, they made up for the calamari. We wish we ordered another of the oysters!!
I hate to say it, but the mains were a bit of a let-down. We would not recommend the lobster roll. It was really expensive, and for the price we paid, we were really hoping for an amazing lobster roll, but it just didn’t taste too much of anything. There wasn’t that “fresh lobster taste” you want in a classic lobster roll. The fish tacos were a bit better though! They weren’t exceptional, but certainly nothing to complain about! We’d like to try the shrimp tacos next time to see if they’re any better. However, their mac & cheese on the side was easily some of the best mac & cheese we’ve ever had! 10/10 for that - we would eat a massive bowl of this if we could! 🤣
The dessert rounded up the dinner super nicely though! The donuts were SO GOOD! Imagine donut holes way better than what you can get at a donut shop, and then add really good vanilla ice cream and a TON of chocolate sauce! Freaking awesome! The dessert and the fried oysters were the highlight of the whole meal and we want to come back ASAP to try the other desserts because they look really good as well. Overall, we had a great dinner at The Hampton Social, and even though a few items were not as good as others, we would totally recommend coming here for dinner (or even lunch). This is a...
