JT's Classic Eats — Restaurant in Dr. Phillips

Ok, so here's the deal. I tasked my husband with finding us dinner on our first night in Orlando. It was late, the kids were tired. I was cranky. He picked JT's based on Google review ratings. We threw it in the GPS and headed over. Upon arrival, we were pretty sure the GPS had suffered a heart attack or perhaps was delusional. It was a gas station and not even a nice one. Zero chance this was the bastion of quality eats the Internet had promised. I flat out refused. No sir. Not after a long day of travel with 4 kids was I willing to eat gas station food and call it dinner. I wanted Food. Real Food. We drove on and I was lambasted by every member of my crew for the entire 20 minute drive to our house for refusing the highest rated eatery within a half hour of our Airbnb. I rolled my eyes and DoorDashed dinner.

The next day, after many hours of Disney fun, dinner plans once again needed to be made. We were tired, foot sore and ready for good food and relaxation. JT's was floated again and I relented. Whatever. It's one dinner and then I can sleep off dragging too many humans all over Magic Kingdom.

FOLKS. Believe me when I say the gas station atmosphere is a cover. Inside is delicious wonderfulness that will leave you SHOOK. I ordered the birria empanadas and they were, hands down the best empanadas I've ever eaten. Literal angels sang. The cilantro lime dipping sauce? Chef's kiss Did I use it on my kid's leftover chicken tenders? I sure did and I regret zero things. Everything was hot and fresh. The mozzarella sticks were absolutely delish. Hubs got a burger that was juicy and super yum.

Anyway, I'm now contractually obligated by my family to allow them to take us to sketchy looking restaurants with outstanding Google reviews. And I'm not even mad if it means discovering more...
