I realize that they only had one cook on staff at opening on a Sunday. But part of customer service is to take 30 seconds to answer any questions. If your restaurant has both shellfish and fish on the menu, it should seem reasonable for guests with allergies to ask questions. I am allergic to both shrimp and halibut. But I've eaten at places with it in the menu before. Usually with a few questions I can find something safe. The guy up front taking orders seemed eager to help and asked the cook in back if all fried things are cooked in the same oil. She barked yes. Then I asked him if the bowl for the salad is fried. He asked her & she got a very harsh voice and said " yes its tortilla. Of course it's fried" She didn't have to be so rude to him, he was just doing his job. He was trying to be accommodating.
I can buy baked shells at the store, maybe the shell was fried before it got here.
BTW my salad came out with a bowl. We were the very first people in at opening & they had 1 car in the drive though. She could have taken a very small amount of time to make sure I don't have a hospital trip in my future.
EDIT: I ended up going to the front to ask for a salad without the bowl. I asked for the manager to make sure i was understood. The "cook" from the back ended up coming up front. I explained what happened and that he didn't understand that I didn't want the bowl. She scoffed that it was a shell actually. I was angered by that response, no apology or care, or even offer to remake. So I told her that the guy up front was doing his job& shouldn't be barked at for doing it. And that I, the guest, was intimidated to ask more questions because I didn't want to be the reason that he was mistreated. I asked for a refund on the salad. I couldn't trust that it would be made with my safety in mind. She said she could remake it, at this point and I said no.
I won't be coming back...
Read moreI had a pretty disappointing experience. When I pulled up to the window, two young employees started talking over each other and giggling. Eventually, one of them took my order which was three small shakes, (strawberry, heath and cookie dough) She then told me to pull up to the window. After I paid (which seemed oddly inexpensive and I should’ve questioned it here but I didn’t think about it), I was told to park, and they’d bring the order out shortly.
When they came out, they only brought one shake. I explained that I ordered two more, and the girl said only one had been rung in. I told her what the other two were, cookie dough and Heath—and she replied that they were completely out of cookie dough. I was confused and asked why no one had mentioned that when I ordered. Instead of apologizing, she got defensive and said the employee probably didn’t know. Then she went inside to make the other shakes, and I could see her through the window, visibly angry and ranting to her coworkers.
A different worker eventually brought the shakes out and acted snobby. I handed her cash for the missing shakes, she told me not to worry about it, but took the cash. The whole interaction felt very uncomfortable.
After that, I saw all the girls run off to play on the kiddie playground. It was just super unprofessional all around. Young employees too busy messing around.
When we got home, we noticed the strawberry shake had heath in it!!!! Not sure how a simple order got so messed up.
Definitely not a great experience. I hope management steps in to improve training and professionalism since a lot of these reviews are saying...
Read morethis place needs some serious help. i don’t know what’s happened, if it was the change in management or whatnot, but this place used to be so good a couple years ago and now it’s just awful. the food is gross and tastes like it’s been sitting for hours, the lobby is always filthy, along with the bathrooms. tables always have crumbs on them, it looks like it hasn’t been swept or mopped in days and their trashes are always overflowing, especially towards the end of the night. behind the counter looks disgusting, the shake mixer had layers of ice cream caked on it and the shake counter looked as though it hadn’t been wiped down for a minute and ice cream was dripping down the front of the counters. the last time i came here i got one of their chocolate toppers and my little sister got a cheesecake shake. when i tell you that my ice cream tasted sour, i mean it tasted SOUR like i took one bite of my ice cream and about gagged, ice cream should not be tasting sour. on top of that my sisters shake also tasted funny, im not sure if it’s cause of the ice cream or somethings wrong with their cheesecake but i will never be coming back. if i could give it zero...
