We've been wanting to visit Spotted Fox for a while. Our first visit had a few hiccups- fire alarm went off for 10-15 mins, an unexpected ingredient swap, and a very busy, possibly overwhelmed waitress- but overall, we enjoyed the decor, the snazzy seating, the beer, and food.
We ordered: Chicken Nachos app, Firehouse Burger w/waffle fries, and Chicken and Shrimp Cajun Alfredo.
The nachos were good but basic, nothing I'd write home about. I think if the chicken was shredded and had a marinade, or sauce, to make it really kick... otherwise, I was hoping Curly's and Curds were on the menu, but they were not.
My burger was perfectly cooked medium-rare. The flavor of the meat and ingredients were fresh and bold. However, they had impromptu replaced what was supposed to be a pretzel bun with a... very disappointingly thin bun. I nixed the bun and moved on. The waffle fries were better than most, I'd say. There was a crispy flaky texture to them that I particularly enjoyed.
My fiance insisted his pasta was very good and enticed me into taking a bite. I would normally steer clear of such a thick sauce but it looked very appealing. I'll admit it was tasty; the sauce was decadent and rich but with a favorable smooth texture.
The manager was very accommodating given the inconveniences.
I would really like to see Spotted Fox make a home here. So many restaurants really don't seem to care in this area and with this place close to home, serving the kind of food we like, I think we will visit again in the near future. I would recommend to friends and family.
I feel like some may rate much lower given what we experienced but I truly felt like the staff was good natured with good intentions and the chef is clearly skilled, so I'm not about to shoot the messenger with an unfair rating for what was clearly an unexpected influx of patrons. I truly believe my next visit here will be without hiccups.
Side note: Google tags state that they do Dine-in and take-out but I was informed that take-out is not an option. They do...
Read moreHad been here before and every time I go back I remember why I say I’ll never go back. My friends and I went on Friday to have dinner and stay for the music afterwards. We were seated and got our food maybe 15mns after ordering. The food and drinks were good, service itself is awful. Once we paid the waitress never returned with a receipt or change, which was no big deal but we were waiting for her to come back so we can tip her. Around 10:30-11 when the music started and tables were moved, we were approached by another server (short, thin, long black hair) & asked if we were told that if we wanted to keep this table we had to buy a bottle to which I replied no, our server didn’t tell us. Our table wasn’t one that needed to be moved, it was off the dance floor. She said she’d get us our server and came back with a tall, fuller blonde who’s name was “Devin” and said to me in the nastiest attitude ever “you guys have to get a bottle to stay here or I can get security for you” and walked away. She was not our server in the first place, and her coming at us with such attitude completely caught us off guard. The owner needs to retrain his staff or get new servers, they have no clue how to deal with people. The bar tenders were much nicer, unfortunate for them to have to work with...
Read moreSave your $10 cover charge on a Saturday night and go somewhere more welcoming instead. I would give this place 0 stars if I could.
From the moment you walk from the parking lot, you notice there are several men in bullet proof vests all over the restaurant.
Paid my cover and walked in. Looking around, there was no where to sit as the majority of the restaurant was converted into a dance floor and it was a busy night. I walked up to the bar and no one even acknowledged I was there. I stood there for 10 minutes before I asked if their kitchen was open. The girl said she didn't know and went to check. She came back and said it was closed. No big deal, I ordered a couple of drinks and when I tried to pay, again, no eye contact, no acknowledgement. I waved my card in front of her waiting to take it but she never did. I was impatient and walked away.
We stepped away to an open spot of the floor and halfway through my drink, a bunch of food came out of the kitchen that was supposedly closed when I tried to order 30 minutes prior.
I was extremely disappointed in the service and walked out. At least I got my $10 cover charge taken care of via free drink. I will not be returning and you should not...
