I feel lately that Panera has gone downhill. So to be fair, I did expect to find what I wanted to order probably sold out. What I would end up ordering would be just okay and way overpriced and unfortunately I was not disappointed. The only reason I came here was because I was meeting friends who chose this place and I was kind of stuck. The atmosphere is the same nothing special as any Panera you would come across. It was very clean. Now since I don't usually eat here very often I'm not familiar with the menu so it took me a while and the lady behind the counter was patient and helpful. The first 3 things I ordered were already sold out and it was only noon. However I ordered the Pick 2 and I took soup, the broccoli and cheese, and a salad I believe it was a Southwest salad. Now the broccoli and cheese soup tasted good I didn't have a complaint except you hardly get any. The salad was just okay. They definitely don't go overboard on the ingredients and give you the bare minimum. I also ordered a large coffee and I served myself the Hazelnut which I did enjoy. So really the food was not horrible or anything like that but what I don't like is for the small amount of food my bill was well over $20 with tax. I think the price is ridiculous for what you get and the food is okay but it is not otherworldly and definitely not worth what I paid for it. So I will continue to avoid Panera and next time the girls want to go out I will insist on going elsewhere where I feel like I got my...
Read moreRidiculous service & ridiculous customer service! This is the worst Panera store you can find in the area. Literally, every time the order is wrong. I choose to avoid this store and use Algonquin and Hoffman Estates locations instead but those locations are not convenient, so we "risk it" sometimes with Carpentersville store. I've been patient until now but it's beyond my limits. Usually, I give them 30 minutes heads up for rapid pick up. Yet, we get there to pick up the order only to find out that there are no bagels in the store. Last time I ordered from them, I came back home empty handed becuase they did not have bagels and made me drive pointlessly to their store only to get a refund for breakfast. This time, they wrote a ridiculous message that they "owe me 4 bagels" and attached it to the bag. What is it? A kindergarten joke? Yes, they took the money. They have not even noticed that they did not pack the french baguette. When I called for the refund for the missing items, they denied it trying to make me drive to their location one more time (becuase this is the best thing people have to do on Sunday after their brunch is ruined).
I called Panera corporate and they have put a request for refund of $4.95 but they don't know how long it will take becuase it's a franchise.
Just be preprared that you will probably experience the same next time you visit because my orders are messed up EVERY time at...
Read moreI went through the drive through in West Dundee IL and ordered an Apple Fuji chicken salad with extra dressing. Having learned my lesson with Panera I opened the bag before I pulled off. There was only one dressing visible and I mentioned that I requested extra dressing. I got home and opened the salad. Some rotted lettuce, squishy tomatoes, couple of pieces of chicken and hardly any dried apple, maybe one or two pieces. What did I find on the bottom of the container underneath the lettuce? Four containers of salad dressing. After I took those out of the bottom the bowl was barely half full, so they filled the dish with salad dressing cups. What is wrong with these people? The only great Panera that I have visited is in the Arboretum in South Barrington. Always consistent, never...
