***Be wary of all their five star reviews*** They offer a free shot or free churro for a five star review. Here’s my super honest opinion: Come for the atmosphere, service, drinks, and chips and salsa. Save your wallet and your pallet from the “Mexican” food. Though priced high, the margaritas are flavorful and my mocktail mojito was delicious. Would definitely come back for happy hour. The queso, tacos and sides, were mediocre at best. There are plenty of authentic Latin cuisines all around the area that offer vastly higher quality ingredients for half the price. The queso might as well have been velveeta. Would pass for on it for 10.99, unless this is all you’re getting with your margarita. The barilla tacos were some of the worst I’ve ever tasted. The consommé tasted like it came out of a bag, or a can. Hard pass. The chorizo tacos were on a plate made for three tacos, but came with only two. Not a dealbreaker, just lack of detail. I will say the corn tortilla was perfect, but the chorizo also tasted like it came out of a bag. Also pass. The yellow Spanish rice was nice and fluffy, but the refried beans were very watery. Was disappointed that the crème brûlée wasn’t available. We tried the tres leches cake instead. Unfortunately, it seems that it was only bottom soaked, or left out to dry. We heard the churros were really good, so would opt for those instead. I don’t want to come off sounding too harsh, just realistic. Pass on the food, unless you’re munching with your drinks. Spend your dollars in an authentic Mexican grocery store. You won’t regret that.

Wow! I’m a fan of Salty Lime Cantina, and the same owners knocked it out of the park here. The food is even better, and the location is more versatile. It’s ready for brunches, lunches, happy hour (rooftop or big marg bar), and family dinners. We ordered a “Mexican pizza” (picture), which doesn’t scream authenticity… but don’t worry, it still understood the assignment. Large, crispy flour quesadilla as a base, topped with tender chicken, marinated skirt steak, grilled asparagus & seasoned zucchini spears, fresh avocado and cilantro, with a light chile crema drizzle. It was excellent and I would order it again. We followed the server’s genial recommendation of ordering it with “blackened” seasoning, which wasn’t overly Cajun — it was just seasoned right. We also had the birria tacos, which were generously filled. The plate included a red chile sauce instead of a typical consommé, but the chile was nicely balanced (not too bitter or hot) and worked well with the beef. Rice was fluffy & fresh, and pinto beans were seasoned well. Table had green chile Cholula on hand (I put it on the rice). Both the Mojito and Coronarita were excellent. It seems Señor (or Señora) Rita is running a tight ship & I was happy when a manager stopped by to inquire about the meal. The quality was outstanding overall. Our server was attentive and available, without hovering. I look forward to my next visit.

My wife and I stopped here tonight while on vacation. The restaurant was crowded but we were sat quickly and the host let us know they were a little backed up. We were able to enjoy our drinks and put our food order through. While we waited for our dinner, several parties came in and some grew angry at the wait times and slow service do to the limited staff. Staff members frequently came by to apologize and ask if they could get us anything in the meantime. When the food came out, it was delicious! "The Norm" burrito paired with a margarita is the way to go. The bartender, which was also our waitress, was impeccable tonight. The entire staff was running around doing everything they could make the night enjoyable for all despite the slower than usual service. We had no problem waiting for our meal. It gave us more time to enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant as well as eachothers company. Thank you for your hard work and efforts to please your guests. We were absolutely pleased and will highly recommend!

Been to this restaurant a few times over the past year and was always super happy. Tonight me and my family choose to drive the 30 minutes to come knowing we would enjoy it again. We were extremely disappointed to the point where our last several positive experiences can’t convince us want to come back. The food quality is always good I will admit to that before continuing but I am very disappointed in the service, especially since there is now a required 20% service fee regardless of party size (family of 4). Me and my husband both got margaritas (one gigantic and one house) and while the flavor was good I’m truly convinced there was MAYBE half the amount of alcohol that has normally been in them, I’ve gotten the same thing every time I’ve come. We had to ask for chips and salsa after being told the server would bring them 15 minutes prior. Then when the food came (nachos to split and 2 kids meals) the cheese from the nachos spilled (over 3/4 the container) all over the table, not upset because accidents happen and it’s stupid of the kitchen to put the cheese container on the side of the plate. The food runner said he would bring a new one up to us in just a second. Neither him, the server, or bartender (who was also serving, busy but still servicing tables) came for over 15 minutes to check on us. They didn’t even glance over our way or come near the table to flag down. By the time someone came remotely close to us the children had already eaten and we ate what we could of the nachos. As someone who worked in the service industry for years I find it highly disappointing that I am required to pay the tip without receiving the service that someone would expect with that percentage. Prior to this new required service fee I have always been pleasantly happy with the service here, especially in cinco de mayo so the lack of attention and basic service was extremely eye opening and...

My wife and I dined here today for lunch and were very disappointed. We have dined here 4 or 5 times and normally it is very busy and the food is good. Today however was not, I don't normally do reviews but this was a little slap in the face. First off the restaurant only had 3 tables seated including us and there were two people at the bar. They had one waitress working the floor and one bar tender behind the bar. The service was sooooooo slow. Once we placed our food order it took 30 minutes to bing out tacos and when I decided to order a margarita it took about 15 minutes to get it. I ordered the Birria tacos which were on the bland side and so was the dipping sauce. My wife ordered the fish tacos at $21.00. When she started eating it, about two bites into it, she put it on the plate, opened it up and was like where is the fish? She sifted through it with her fork and found 2 small chunks of fish about 1 inch cube in size, the rest was nothing but the vegetable filler and sauce. She opened the second taco and there was one piece of fish that was about an inch in width and about 4 inches long. I spoke with the waitress about the discrepancy considering the cost which she apologized for and said she would see what she can do. She was gone for about 10 minutes and when she finally came back she didn't bring a new taco or extra fish on the side to put in the only half ate taco, she merely said that the owner was going to give us a discount. When the check came out the "discount" a whopping $2.00. I doubt I will go back, I know everyone is dealing with the rise in food cost but you know my wife and I work hard for our money and expect better. She ordered fish tacos that are supposed to come with toppings, not veggie tacos that come with a sprinkling of fish. With a mandatory 20% service charge to boot it was the worst $80 I...

Having recently relocated to the Dunedin area, we have been Trying to find new restaurants in the area. My wife and I both love Mexican food so we ran across Señor Rita’s online And decided to give it a try.

We actually decided to give it a try because it mentioned having a nighttime market on Fridays and Saturdays. It turns out that means about three people with booths set up in their back parking lot Which removes any parking that they have on site. So that was a disappointment.

So now it’s time to try the restaurant and the first major difference I noticed is that the menu is now much smaller than the menu that they show online through their website. We visited on July 5, 2025. When I asked the server about the difference, she said they had literally just changed the menu the week before so we’ll go with that. Just be aware if you’re looking at the online menu and it has not been updated, it’s much smaller than what they show and that is the only reason I took away one star from their rating.

I ordered the street tacos with steak and I will say that they were the best steak tacos I’ve had in the state of Florida. I lived in San Diego California for 22 years and I know Mexican food and these were damn good. My wife had the fajitas and she liked them, but she said they seem to be a little light in the portion of chicken.

We also had a couple of drinks each. I had two Mojitos and she had two sangrias and the drinks were strong so no complaints about water down drinks here.

It was a little surprising to see the bill at the end totaling up to $120 for four drinks, two entrées and one appetizer, but the drinks added about $50 of that total. But even without that, it would’ve been close to $70 for Mexican food.

I will definitely be back for the tacos and probably...
