I've been eating and drinking at Finns for over 30 years. A few nights before the fire I went there for the first time in maybe 10 yrs and what a disappointment. Years ago the food was great, the baked stuffed shrimp was great, and the drinks were good. When I went the other night they didn't even have baked stuffed shrimp anymore on the menu and the food they did have was all bad. Even the stuffies were bad. I had lobster Alfredo but you'd be hard pressed to find it and it was so chewy I finally just spit it out. The calamari was the same, so over cooked it was like chewing rubber bands. I went to the bar and ordered a drink and it was like $9 and change...OK whatever but the glass was 3/4 full with ice. So I went back to get another and asked for less ice pointing to a point on the glass and basically got the same amount of ice. But on top of that this time the girl charged me a dollar more. She offered to credit me and I said I'm all set. After I finished my drink I realized that the glass is made so the bottom of the glass is thicker, like 5 times thicker. You'd never notice from the outside because there's just a line. So the bottom of the glass is like a shot glass. So they give you this big glass that really isn't and fill it with ice. I've never had such bad food and drinks in my life and this is coming from someone who has always loved this place. All I can say is maybe the fire was needed to do a reset on this restaurant. Hope they come...

It’s tough to write this review as I have loved this place for a while. It seems to go through peeks and valleys and it seems to have hit a low. I never like to judge on a single experience. However, the past few time I have been there the quality of food and service have escalated in a downward trend. A couple of weeks ago I ordered Lobster Paella. It was supposed to come with a 1/2 lobster and only had a claw with the meat missing from the rest of the shell. I tried having management remedy it . While waiting I proceeded to eat the rice and mussels on it that tasted very off I stopped eating and they brought me a lobster and said it would be taken off the bill. It was not taken off and that following day, I became extremely sick potentially from the shellfish. Giving the place the benefit of the doubt, 2 weeks later my daughter asked to go and I said sure. Entertaining a part of 8, the experience started good. Unfortunately, it didn’t last. My daughters boyfriend was not asked for his order I had to run to the bus station and have the waiter put in the order. All of our food came with exception of his. While waiting we made multiple requests to see where it was. 40 minutes later the manager finally came with it. Meanwhile, out of courtesy we were all waiting to eat. By the time it came no one was enjoying their cold food. Sadly, this will be my last time going to...

NEVER AGAIN

Yesterday I called to make reservations thinking I would need them due to COVID. I said, “I’d like to make reservations for two for 6:30 tonight.” The girl who answered the phone says to me, “We don’t do reservations unless it’s a party of 8 or more.“. I said, “Okay, is it real busy at 6:30 and is your outside dining available?” She said, “No you’ll be fine for 6:30. And we have outside dining and inside available ” My Son and I get there at 6:43pm. “Hi, two”. She says “Hi” She looks down at her paper and goes, “We’re not seating anyone. We are closing at 7”. My son and I looked at each other and I was like, whaaaat?! I told her I called earlier. She said, “Well, it’s 6:43 anyway and we stopped seating people at 6:30.” We walked out of there and went somewhere else that was on the water and open for regular hours! Here’s the kicker, when we arrived, there was a young kid directing us where to park out side for Finn’s. We walk out and he’s still letting cars in!!! I said to the woman coming in to park (she had her window down), “don’t bother! They aren’t seating anyone anymore. It was over at 6:30.” The parking lot boy for their restaurant hears me and goes, “oh really?? Hmm”. How bizarre is that?! Communication is great there. I can only imagine the food. Will NEVER go there...

The food here tasted good, but I’m not sure it fits the price tag. My flat bread was more like a piece of Fried Dough with a light salad thrown on top, and the Severe lack of prosciutto was comical. There may have been a crumble or 2 total on the entire meal. Needless to say it was very messy to manage, but The fried fish sandwich was pretty good. The seasonal drinks were honestly the best part. They were actually really good! However, The server we had was a bit Out To Sea herself and made the experience anything but dull. Over all it would be a good place to frequent as long as you get a a server that doesn’t forget about you or doesn’t forget to bring the stuff you ordered to the table with her. And as long as you order something that fits the price point. This was the Seasonal Menu we had at the time.

Great food. Easy parking. Just what we were looking for... Kids ordered burger, and fish and chips. We ordered queso and chips for an appetizer... so good! For dinner, we ordered fish tacos, fish and chips, and the swordfish... The swordfish happened to be a smaller cut... We didn't think anything of it, but the owner noticed it on their own and brought out a free second plate of the swordfish. Wow - I have never experienced that level of service and would not have even mentioned the portion size! Our waitress was very nice and even took a few family photos for us. The atmosphere is right on the water, near the boat docks. You can sit inside or outside. Definitely recommend Finn's! Thank you for the great experience, Finn's!

This was my second time enjoying this place. First time I had fish and chips. And I so wanted to come back to Finn’s to have their incredible mouthwatering lobster mac and cheese on my visit to Rhode Island. It was worth the wait !!! It’s right on the water and on a good day “garage doors” open up which creates an outdoor feeling. The staff is very very friendly and accommodating. My first visit there was live music. Second time I was there for lunch As of note
usually I don’t eat pasta, grains or dairy. Mac and cheese was worth every morsel đŸ€©đŸ’ƒđŸ€“ Definitely would be back for more on my next trip to RI
