Overall I must give this a 2 out of 5. The good things were the salmon I ordered was cooked well the asparagus was a bit crunchy for my taste but nonetheless I ate it. The three slices of baked potatoes that came with it were good as well however, $28 for the meal due to the small portion was a bit hefty. My guest ordered the sliders but, could not eat them because they were too spicy which not indicated on the menu. She was charged five dollars extra for a side of mashed potatoes. The lobster empanadas were not bad. Now let’s talk about the service, downright annoying and caused quite a bit of anxiety during my meal. The bus boy was constantly going around the center tables as we were in a booth watching our every move and removing our plates when we still were eating so it made us have to hurry our meal just to get out of that place. When the appetizers came out I had only enough time to put my napkin on my lap and pick up my utensils before the waitress asked how was the meal I said I don’t know I haven’t tried it yet. After my first bite she came back and asked how does it taste? With a full mouth I nodded and said fine. Halfway through my empanada and mind you I don’t eat slow the hostess came by and asked how was the meal? At this time I told her that my guest’s meal was very spicy. She said she would tell the chef but it should not be spicy. I said well it might not be spicy for others but it’s spicy for this person which should have been indicated on the menu or at least that it has a possibility of being spicy. She made no allowances or corrections. As I was continuing eating the bus boy came in and asks to remove our plates, I said we’re not done yet the boss boy then went away and stared at us the whole time we were eating. Another waiter came past us with a restaurant mat up in the air instead of going around were nobody was which was interesting. For nearly $100 spent on a meal for two people you would think that it would be more professional . It reminded me of many years ago when I once went to a buffet restaurant and they kept coming around taking the plates whether you were done or not. The online reservation was made with one of the questions being what is this reservation for? I checked the button for birthday needless to say it was not a very happy birthday dinner. Unfortunately, this will be my last time there. Also to add it was not busy it was just our party and someone else there our reservation was at 4:45 PM on...
Read moreIm posting this on behalf of my mother. "At the risk of sounding like a "Karen", I am writing this review. Last night I was so excited to go to Ocean because last year's experience was fantastic. However, I went last night with a friend who had donated to "Dreams Come True" and received a calendar that each month at certain nicer restaurants receive a BOGO offer. This month it should be Ocean's turn to offer it. Once we were seated the poor waitress had the unpleasant task to tell us that they were not honoring it. She saw that we were disappointed and asked if we would like to see the owner, which we said sure. Well, this man rudely approached the table and without any greeting whatsoever said in abrasive tone, "I hear you have a problem that we are not honoring the calendar," flaring his arms saying, "some people don't care for struggling businesses!" That was not the case at all. Actually we were there because we spend a hefty amount on our dinners. But to be insulted and rudely treated was not our idea of a pleasant night out. We had no choice but to leave. This owner chose to turn down a customer over a charity coupon equaling one free meal even though he would have made money off our other entrees and multiple rounds of bar drinks. I guess he wasn't that desperate nor could see the big picture. Also, the bartender and server who were waiting for a customer in the empty restaurant lost out on a tip, a 20% tip on the original amount, from us as a potential patron because their manager treated...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went on the afternoon of Christmas eve. We had reservations for 3:30pm. (Highly recommend! By 4:30pm the place started getting packed.) Everyone was extremely attentive. Every person working there had a task and they didn't miss a beat. Our waters were refilled immediately, our food boxed up within seconds of asking and the food! Let's talk about the food and drinks. We both got their special drink of the night, they had just come up with it so they didn't even have a name for it but it was on point! Not too sour not too sweet, just right. For appetizers we got the lobster bisque and calamari. The lobster bisque was creamy and velvety. I wanted another bowl! For dinner I got the caramelized scallops with mushroom risotto. It comes with bacon risotto but they allowed me to substitute without hesitation. I appreciated that! I try not to substitutefor the most part but bacon is somethingI try to stay away from. The scallops were hearty and cooked to perfection. The sauce on the risotto was outstanding. My boyfriend got the swordfish and he thought it was one of the best he's had. The flavors were on point.
Now let's talk dessert... we were so full and packed half of our meal but we couldn't leave without trying one to go. We got the très leches. I'm Latina and have has my fair amount of très leches but THIS ONE blew my mind! I didn't even have time to take a pic because when I got home and saw that beauty I couldn't stop myself. Overall an...
