There’s good sushi, then there’s fantastic sushi. Fantastic sushi is the kind that you can still taste the morning of, and you begin planning the next time you will go back to indulge. My friend and I came to Sogo Sushi on a Friday night at about 7:00p.m. There were a couple of other people there, but no one was sitting at the sushi bar. We thought this would be a fun opportunity to sit at the sushi bar and get to know the sushi chef, Jóse. He is extremely nice and a master at his art. I asked him a lot of questions about all the special rolls, and he patiently answered all my questions- with a side of grace. I was served by a woman named Linda and a man named Sunny. They were very pleasant and Linda was quite social. Turns out this restaurant has been in Easton for 16 years! We ordered the crab salad, an order of chicken fried rice, the Monkey Roll, and the Out of Control roll. The salad was light, refreshing, and provided a bit of base filling. The fried rice was really good, some of the best I’ve ever had, and it had a good salt to garlic ratio. The sushi was out of this world- the flavors were so great that it didn’t need any soy sauce or wasabi. I washed it all down with a Japanese beer they have on tap on tap called Ichiban. This is really good stuff. We will definitely be coming back to Sogo. I’m surprised it didn’t have more customers based on the quality of the food. I’m thinking it has to do something with the location. It is a bit hidden if you aren’t look ing- almost overshadowed by The Bayou and The River Grille. I think they need to put a big old neon sign on the sidewalk, with an arrow pointing, saying ā€œThis way for the freshest Asian fusion...

I really, really love Japanese food. So when I go somewhere, I always try to check out any Japanese/sushi restaurants in the area. I think my expectations for American Japanese food are fair, but I'll admit that my standards might be a little higher because, like I said, ę—„ęœ¬ć®ę–™ē†ćÆęœ¬å½“ć«å¤§å„½ćć§ć™.

I got two food items: one of the special rolls, and the pork katsu.

Maki: the flavors were okay, but my issues were with the portions and the rice. The roll was quite small in diameter, definitely not what you would expect to get for a $15-20 roll. The rice was very obviously not fresh, and was actually a bit dry. This was made worse by the fact that the rice:filling ratio was way too high; there seemed to be very little seafood for the price.

Katsu: pork was overcooked and undersalted. I will say that the panko was well-fried and not oily. The rice on the side was very dry. I will say that this item was quite economical; I was given two pork cutlets, a bowl of rice, and a small side of veggies (nothing super fancy) for about $25.

With a bottle of beer, my total bill pre-tip was just over &50.

Ambiance was fine. There's a bar area that looks cute, but when I went I was the only person in the restaurant until a small group came in near the end of my meal.

Service was very fast, though that may have simply been a function of me being the only person in the restaurant.

I probably won't go here again, and I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but if you're nearby and are really craving sushi, there's nothing wrong with...

What an overpriced mediocre restaurant. Service wasn’t the greatest with a bored waitress who couldn’t be bothered to know anything about the drink menu. In fact when I asked about recommendations she scoffed and said judgmentally I don’t know I don’t drink. There were flies everywhere. The food came out and I was shocked at the 4 pieces of dried rubbery beef I paid $14 for. Don’t get anything from the cooked food/ chef because God was it AWFUL! The salad was mediocre and the produce not fresh I just ate the avocado off of it.The sushi was extremely overpriced and again mediocre. It’s sad because the place looks lovely but if u don’t want to leave the restaurant still hungry out $110 just avoid. I was shocked at the price per roll. In NYC a roll u find here for $30 is like $7-$12. No wonder the place was empty. Will be avoiding this place for good. They took the beef item I laughed at off the bill but still the bill was ridiculously high. 2 drinks 2 salads and a few rolls should not cost that much! I felt like the owner new exactly what she was doing overcharging and then felt embarrassed when I confronted her and blamed the new chef. Judging by the reviews that’s a lie and happens all the time. She did give a free $5 glass of plum wine. Still not worth the expensive...

Awesome sushi place right next to the Easton Circle. The salad dressing was excellent and I loved the miso soup! Ordered the sushi/sashimi combo and it did not disappoint! The tuna and salmon pieces were amazing! The Nigiri was just as good as the sashimi! The fish was hugging sweet and delicious pillows of rice! Amazing! The spicy tuna roll and sweet potato roll are personal favorites of mine. Overall this experience was great! The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was very calm and chill. I would definitely go back for seconds!

The sushi here was amazing. I must say I've eaten sushi in many places in different countries and this was some of the best. Pricing per portion size was fair as well. The specialty rolls averaged around $15 but were sized well. Probably not enough for a full meal if you are really hungry but the freshness and taste make it worth it. The specialty "Salmon tree" appetizer was exquisite! Friendly staff and attentive and even gave us a free lil coconuty alcoholic drink at the end! Will definitely go back.
