Look, I got recommended here by a local and took my family. Is it particularly bad, no! Is it good, absolutely not. Pretty dang mediocre and for a high price. I saw reviews saying “best on the island” which was super enticing but now I am just sad for your beautiful little island. Tacos were solid but nothing special. The family had chicken and cauliflower and mushroom. Lots of grease on the vegetarian options and the chicken had a cheese that was rlly low quality. Guacamole was 7 which I thought was awesome until it came in a tiny plastic ketchup looking side cup. You had to also pay for chips which to me is a crime against nature. Who orders 7 dollar guac and gets no chips. Most Mexican restaurants if you get guac it comes with chips. So that was severely disappointing. Comes out on plastic plates with plastic silverware which isn’t a problem but again adds to the low quality for high price nature of this place. I’m not sure if the imports are high here causing the 7 dollar meh tacos but bar taco has 4.50 street tacos 100% better anywhere in the south. Tried to do a casual night and still ended up paying for 150 + dollars while sitting at a paint chipped table next to the trash can in the back. Overall disappointing and we left still hungry and I kid you not our family is not one that eats a ton. So therefore sadly I must rate this place a two. Had high hopes but did not...

One of the best Mexican restaurants in Massachusetts. One of the very rare places where tortillas are freshly made (this adds a little wait time to your order, but you will get real, warm, fully flavorful tortillas- a treat that is usually reserved to those traveling to Mexico).
If you like spicy food, you must ask for your tacos to be done “Mauricio’s way” which includes a delicious and spicy sauce, purple onions and cilantro.
The chicken tacos are cooked on a Mexican green sauce, not spicy at all, but turns a simple chicken into a savory treat.
Their mushroom tacos and fried Yuca are also a family favorite.
Once you have feasted on this excellent Mexican food, you want to try their own invention the “choco taco”: a fried fresh tortilla is filled with ice cream and covered in home made caramel and chocolate.
You will struggle to eat lunch anywhere else.
This is the original restaurant. The owners have opened a new place in Oak Bluffs that has a larger menu, “Dos Más” and is...

Basic things were missing - no napkins available, just a single roll of paper towels sitting on the bar for everyone to use. No utensils were provided, and food was served on flimsy paper plates. Considering the prices I’d expect better.
Despite clearly explaining my dietary restriction, my tacos still came with sour cream. They were bland and forgettable overall. Guacamole didn’t come with chips - and yet everything was very expensive for what felt like a poorly run operation.
Unfortunately, nothing about the visit made me want to come back. I’d recommend...
