We were looking for a new breakfast restaurant, so we decided to head to Ruperts at the Edge.
The restaurant was crowded, so we had to wait. We were told the wait would be approximately 20 minutes, no problem. There are about 6 chairs to sit in, just inside the door, if you want or need to sit down while waiting. There are also extra chairs on the patio outside, if you are lucky enough to snag one of those. The hostess stand is directly inside the door, by the 6 or so chairs. It's cramped quarters inside the restaurant, difficult to move around the tables.
The interior has reds, yellows, and black colors inside. The floor is carpeted, which surprised both my husband and I. Yes, it is suppose to cut down on the noise, but it's also hard to keep clean. Interesting. It's very noisy inside the restaurant, so the carpet doesn't help absorb the sound. There is music playing in the background, but you can't really hear it, so it really doesn't matter.
The gray ceiling has exposed pipe work, which I don't mind. There is an outdoor patio, which was very crowded on the morning that we went.
Two quotes on the walls inside the restaurant were nice, " Brunch without mimosa is just a sad, late breakfast." Another quote was, "Never underestimate the power of a good breakfast." There are also picture frames, hung artistically on the walls, in nice arrangements, with an "R" in each big arrangement of picture frames.
The bar seats approximately 6-7 people. There is a television at the bar. There are tables and booths. The restaurant does have high chairs, as well as a kid's menu.
There is a narrow parking lot that runs along the front of the strip in which the restaurant is located. There is also a bigger parking lot in the back.
Now, back to the wait. We were told we would have to wait about 20 minutes, again, no problem. My husband and I took a seat by the hostess stand. I noticed an empty booth directly inside the door. The hostess wasn't seating anyone there, and the booth was clean. Curious. After 15 minutes, the hostess took us to the said booth, and seated us. Curious.
I had my basic breakfast of bacon, eggs, and toast. My husband had the same thing. The breakfast was good, except that I couldn't eat the potatoes, due to onions in them, and a very specific food allergy that I have. I usually ask, and this time I didn't, so this one is on me.
All in all, a good experience, but nothing to brag about. It's very, very loud inside the restaurant. It was very difficult for the two of us to carry on any type of conversation. It's all very cramped inside. Would we go out of our way to go here again, probably not. We don't mind driving to go out to eat, just that we will pass on this one, there won't be a second time. It's a nice neighborhood restaurant, it's just not for us. I debated on giving it a 4 star, but went with...
Read moreI so wanted my anniversary brunch to be great. We have tried several times to come eat since the first time we had came, 2 years ago. The 2nd and 3rd times we attempted to come in, the host was extremely untrained or unable to comprehend you can't fit 6 people in a 4 person booth. Or 8 people at a 4 person table. She literally tried both instances. So, here I am, wedding anniversary, a year since we had ladt tried to eat here and I'm wanting brunchfast and drinks and patio, and there's a patio table open. Yay! Our waitress took our order, was very attentive. The bloody Mary 2 for 1s...lets just say, there was literally no alcohol. Or Worcestershire. Or pepper. It was literally a beautifully garnished glass with ice and tomato juice. Suuuuuuper disappointing. The French toast was yummo and my husband licked his burrito plate clean. My burger looked beautiful! Sadly, it was the equivalent of a salt-rimmed margarita glass. I had to scrap off a tablespoon of salt seasoning and the burger was still inedible.
I ate my fries and wanted to mention to the waitress she should inform her chef the burger was extremely over seasoned. She said "I wish I would have known. Next time you know to ask the chef to unseason your burger." Pretty condescendingly, I might add. I told her about the burger the second time she checked on me, after I had gotten the two bites of the half of the burger that I cut apart in. I don't know when else I would have been able to inform her the burger was inedible, but whatever. She brought the check and said her manager took off some from the burger that I ate two bites of. $1.50 on a $14.50 burger (I added bacon, cheese and avocado. So ya, $$)
As a waitress myself, I would never consider being rude to my guests. I also would feel pretty embarrassed as a chef and want to buy whatever was inedible to my patrons, but that's just me. Regardless, I figured I would just put a heads up out there. They may do "bottomless mimosas" and "bogo bloodymarys", but I'm pretty sure they batch make them and they forgot to add vodka to the BM's, and my husband felt the same about the flat mimosas. $80 spent, and I could care less about going back. Buyers remorse, I guess. Posting a pic of the almost-perfect burger and the very bland bloody's. Pictures can...
Read moreWent here today with my friend and my son. The food was ok. The breakfast burrito was good and the southwest Benedict was just ok. It came out cold. The service was the worst I’ve ever had in a long time. Our server Christal (had to get her name from the reciept that I had printed) was incredibly rude and totally disconnected. She came up to our table without introducing herself and immediately asked us what we wanted to drink. She made no eye contact and sounded annoyed. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk. She brings me out drip coffee. Lays it on the table and says nothing. She then brings my son orange juice, lays it quickly on the table quickly and says nothing. I went up to her to tell her that I didn’t order drip coffee. She said “ok I’ll take it off your bill.” I’m not sure how she got “drip coffee” out of me asking for a cappuccino with oat milk. Again, She was annoyed. She brought out my cappucino quickly with no apology at all and then takes the drip coffee. No word. Nothing. One of the other employees brought out our food and was incredibly sweet and kind. After getting our food, i couldn’t tell her that the eggs were cold. She didn’t come check on us at all. we were almost done with our meal by the time she refilled our water. She passed us several times without asking us how our meal was. I also wanted another coffee but she never came back. She then comes to collect money for the bill. I asked her if I could see the bill as it was close to $80. She quickly scanned through the line items so quickly, I had to quickly scan the screen. i had her stop because I saw the drip coffee that she said she would take off. She never took it off as promised. I asked her to take it off. She then just deleted it. No word. Nothing. I under tipped her. Which I hated doing but she was so disconnected, rude and annoyed. It’s like she was high. It was a very uncomfortable experience for us. We won’t be back. I felt like we spent $80 at an establishment that didn’t...
