This taco bell seems to have given up.
First off, they are so hilariously short staffed that this location really only exists in theory. Their posted hours are only in the morning four hours a day, normal hours on tuesdays, and closed on friday and sunday. That is pretty optimistic - if you show up their during the posted hours, there is a greater than 50% chance they're actually closed. If they are open, the wait is absurdly long - getting four cars through the drive through takes over an hour.
I understand that it's a competitive labor market. That's a great thing - it drives up wages, giving people a better quality of life. But this taco bell has just chosen not to compete. They are hiring at $12.32, which is the local minimum wage. If you want an hourly job in this area, you can get $16 at McDonalds or $16.50 at Target on this block, and $17 at Shake Shack across the street. None of the other fast food nearby struggles to maintain full hours like this.
It's just business. This is an expensive place to live - to rent an average apartment in this area, you need a household income equivalent to about $30/hour. Because everywhere is hiring, nobody is going to commute to work in this neighborhood. You have to pay enough that a household with two people earning what you offer can live in the area, or you will never hire anyone. I can't imagine this place is profitable in its current state, serving just a few customers an hour for a handful of the least-in-demand hours of the week. Either the franchize owner will close down to stop the bleeding, or the last presumably 2-3 people that work here will leave for a 50% pay raise on the same block.
From what I can tell, this describes most of the taco bells in the state, but not the other franchises run by Yum brands like KFC...
Read moreJust departed from this location after having 2 separate back to back online delivery orders cancelled (one DoorDash and the other Uber Eats) exact reasons unbeknownst to me, both drivers called after arriving at locations and said that âthe location was not fulfilling online orders tonight.â So after the disappointment of waiting a total of approximately two hours for nothing, my girlfriend and I decided to venture out and get it ourselves. When we pulled into the drive-thru line, there were 4 vehicles ahead of us. After 2-3 minutes had passed, we noticed we hadnât heard anything coming from the order speaker; just about that time the lead car who was up to order was saying âHello? Helloooo???â to which there was no response. That car eventually pulls off appearing to be a little perturbed, next car up, same thing. The remaining cars pull through and quickly circle back around the restaurant, with one pulling up to our window and says âDonât waste your time sitting here, they arenât going to answer. They are saying that they are closedâŚâ At this point I am about to boil over. Mind you, it was 11:25PM; the store hours of operation list close time for both restaurant and drive thru as 2AM. I understand that sometimes things happen and a restaurant may need to close their doors earlier than the listed hours, but 2.5 hours early? All the restaurant lights were on and drive thru was fully lit. All signs pointed to âwe are open and operating.â Needless to say, we didnât get Taco Bell tonight. STRIKE THREE and weâre OUTTT. Perhaps Taco Bell has made their billion dollars this quarter and doesnât need any...
Read moreI placed a mobile order to pick up at the drive thru for my kids on our way home from an appt in the city during rush hour 17 miles from home. I had a hard time placing the order when I got to the window I realized I was double charged so I just told them I would take the food instead of trying to get a refund. When I finally got home I saw that I was also charged on two different cards as the first time I tried it said error so I tried a different card but the order was only placed one time so I was actually charged 4 times for a mistake I thought I caught at the drive thru. I tried multiple times and ways to get a hold of anyone at Taco Bell but was unsuccessful in any attempt. I believe I work hard for what I have that isnât a lot as a widowed mother of four that canât always say yes to my kids so when I do it really sucks that other peoples mistakes, glitches or maybe by my own fault takes the joy out of saying yes. I would expect someone from a company like Taco Bell would at the very least have some sort of AI response and say âplease leave a messageâ instead of ignoring their customer. I guess if you donât mind being ripped off for the sub par food or the bad service you could ignore this review but as for me I will choose to who and where I decide to give my money away to next time which I really doubt it will be Taco Bell especially the one on Sheridan Blvd in...
