I was recommended by a friend and have gone a few times to form a solid opinion. Always promptly and kindly. The dining room is well decorated, has great natural lighting, and seating is spaced nicely apart. The dining room is also designed well with regard to volume. There’s no loud music, or loud kitchen noises, or loud parking lot sounds. It’s just very welcoming and even more importantly it’s warm! So many restaurants are very cold either from AC in the summer or conserving energy in the winter.
Anyways, onto the food! My favorite was the Chongqing spicy beef noodle soup. It’s absolutely wonderful. It’s one of my favorite soups I’ve had in a long time. It’s filling, it’s delicious, it’s well flavored, it’s not too heavy, it’s not too anything; it’s seriously perfect. It’s also enough for two meals while being very inexpensive. I can’t recommend it enough. The Szechuan wontons in chili oil are perfectly fine. I tend to prefer them with hotter spice levels, but I think they’re ideal for what most people enjoy. I had the garlic chicken fried noodles and they were perfect for what they were. I asked for extra spicy and they were nicely flavored with some heat (not as hot as I like but I can add my own chili oil at home, or they have some on the table). The chicken was great and the fried noodles were a great texture and consistency. It’s all simple dishes but very well seasoned, well prepared, well served, and just all around great. Neither the wontons, nor the fried noodles blew my mind, but they were exactly what I expect when I order those dishes, so I commend them for that.
I definitely plan to go back and I would...
Read moreI love Master Noodle in saint paul. I'm so disappointed in this one. It's not bad. But my experience at the saint paul location is that Master Noodle stands for top quality Chinese noodles, and this was not a top quality experience in Edina.
Restaurant was freezing cold on a mid may day in the 70s. Waiter thoughtfully steered us away from the bubble teas because they weren't good at the time in his opinion, because they were changing to a new menu style. We ordered some of our favorites including the hot chili wontons, scallion pancake, and Chongqing spicy noodle soup. Nothing was spicy. The flavor was all very mild and didn't have that. Wow factor that I was used to. It was good, just not top quality, and I went there for top quality, because that's what I'm used to there.
My son got chicken fried rice and it was extremely fishy, like they had a very heavy hand with the fish sauce. He didn't want to eat it, so we took it home to doctor up as leftovers. The best dish was the biang biang, because the flavors were coming through.
There weren't many people in the restaurant on a Wednesday night. Our server never checked up on us after the food was delivered, and I had to wave him down to get boxes and the bill. I won't be back to this location, we just went here because the Saint Paul location is closed on Wednesday night. Not...
Read moreI had takeout chicken fried rice tonight and the dish was so different from the dish I had two days ago when I dined in. The flavor was different as was the pieces of chicken. The dine in dish was so much more flavorful with large chunks of chicken cooked perfectly tender. With tonights take out, the pieces were long slender tough rubbery white meat and the rice was garlicky in smell but lacked taste. I had to dress it up with their mayonnaise like sauce whereas the same dish two days ago did not need any additional sauce. It was almost like I went to a different restaurant. The price was the same! What happened? Even if the chef was gone for the night, why was the chicken so different? The pieces were cut and shaped different and tasted different. Two days ago, the chicken was fresh full of flavor as well as tender like it was just cooked. Tonight, the rubbery slices had zero taste. I had to dip the few strips into the Mayo sauce for any flavor. Two days ago, it was freshly cooked chicken chunks and tonight, it was like store bought already cooked sliced chicken taken out of a bag from the freezer. I'm so...
