Just the place to get insulted. Went in on a Thursday evening at 7:00 P.M. Lots of empty tables. Service started out slow. Waiter did not even ask if we wanted a drink just placed the menu in front of us a left for a long time. When he returned he took our order and we had to tell him that we wanted a cocktail. I do not know what was going on but it took the cocktails a long time to arrive and I did not see the bar tender at the bar for that long time. When the cocktail arrived mine was not a gin gimlet but a vodka gimlet and the mix used was not good. Had the waiter return drink and order a gin gimlet. Bar tender came to the table and asked if I wanted it up or on the rocks. I told him on the rocks. the gimlet came up. Then the salad arrived but only one and so had to tell the waiter That I too wanted a salad. Shortly after the appetizer arrived. We would have liked to have had the appetizer first with our cocktail. Our dinner arrived and I ordered a glass of red wine, which came out of a bottle so it was good. My friend had a bloody mary which he said tasted fine. After we ate I finally was able to get our waiter attention. When he arrived at the table he came with the bill. I then told him we were not ready for the bill that we wanted to order a dessert drink of Drambuie on the rocks. When that arrived it was not Drambuie. I went to the bar tender and asked him why we did not get Drambuie he said we got Jack Daniels that was the order. Our waiter came and took the Jack Daniels and went to get us Drambuie. Then the waiter returned empty handed and told us we were not going to get any Drambuie as the bartend cut us off. I went to the bar tender and asked why we were cut off, he said, "I have the right to cut any one off that is intoxicated and you are intoxicated".
Of course the manager told me when I complained to her that I only had two drinks, that drinks affect every one different and if the bartender thinks you are drunk he has the right to cut you off.
She did adjust my bill but I still felt insulted. I could never go back there again and feel comfortable...

HAPPY HOUR!
Firstly, well behaved dogs are welcomed with open arms. (We found our girl on the "Wall of Fame" from our visit in 2023.) Our host Z seated us and advised that there was still 15 minutes left to Happy Hour! Daniel came over immediatly so we could get our order in to beat the clock! We quickly ordered a Lemon Drop, (Only $7!) and a glass of white. For food, we orderd Bacon Wrapped Dates stuffed with Nduja Style Sausage. (Wow! What an awesome flavour bomb!), Coconut Shrimp with actual coconut flakes and sweet chili dipping sauce. (Killer.) Wild Alaskan Beer Battered Cod Tacos and and a 3 piece Wild Alaskan Beer Battered Cod Fish and Waffle Chips. The batter on the cod was perfectly, crisply cooked. Just the right thickness, not all thick and "bready". The servings for both were generous. Natalia came over to say "hi" to our dog and offered up a "Pup Cup" of whipped cream topped with a couple of dog treats. Our girl thought she had died and gone to Heaven! I have to say one of the better Happy Hours around and just great people!
Girardi's has great a variety of Italian dishes, (with Fusion, Vegetarian and Gluten Free offerings) on the menu, so we knew we had to go back for dinner even though we have a, (loose) rule of not doing "repeats" while on vacation. But, back we went.
DINNER - Two Days Later
We were pleasantly surprised that Monday - Wednesday, Giradi's has a selection of bottled wines priced half off! We ordered a Dolcetto Alba and a Cline 7 Ranchland. Started with Lobster Bisque, then Ling Cod Milanese and Linguine Modena with Chicken Breast. Again, just perfectly prepared and ample portions. (We ended up taking to-go boxes and the re-corked bottles of wine back to our room.)
The Tiramisu was too tempting to pass up so we spilt an order paired with a glass of Tawny Port. And yes, our girl was treated to a "Pup Cup" by Sig, our server, who made us feel like we had known her forever and we were dining at her home. Just a great experience both times. Another Edmond's gem. Yup,...
Read moreFound this place via Groupon. It is our 36th anniversary and since my wife is an Italian from Sicily (the old country) I thought they had true authentic Italian, at least that's what the menu leads one to believe. I had reservations at 7pm, had to wait to be seated, to be honest we were 4 minutes late and my son hadn't arrived so no big deal. Started out with appetizers: Burrata Caprese - awesome! The mozzarella was as fresh as it could possibly be, melted on the fork! Bruscetta - was ok, nothing special. The tomatoes didn't seem garden fresh but they did use that awesome mozzarella! Bacon wrapped dates - absolutely amazing! To die for! Crunchy and silky smooth sweetness all in one bite! Good stuff there. Calamari - UGG! Not good, my wife and I love good calamari, this was not it.... the calamari was mush inside a bread crusted stick, reminded me of a cheap fishstick. My 2 yr old grandson wouldn't even eat them. Main course: Penne alla amatrigiana - they used real pork belly, taste was good, not excellent since it was lacking in salt. The pasta was extremely over cooked, in all 4 dishes that we ordered. I returned mine and asked for the lingcod, al'dente, the waiter asked what sauce was that..... it was overcooked also, I gave up. The rest of the main dishes were ok except all the pasta was overcooked. Dessert: Tiramisu - excellent. Made with lady fingers and not over soaked. Lemon sorbet - wife could not eat it, said it tastes like it was laced with soap.
Service was fair, except the waiter actually asked me if I wanted to remove the returned plate from the bill.... since I saved $10 from groupon I let it go.
Would i recommend this...
