The food is not bad but like many of the other reviews the service is horrible. My co-worker and I went into this restaurant for lunch during the week day. In matter of fact it was Wednesday on August 3rd around 1pm. We had a waitress that had very little customer service qualities. She was a thin brunette lady with her hair in a bun who had trouble smiling or showing any hint of emotions. It was obvious she just wanted to take our order and be on her way. It was also evident she intended to favor serving my co-worker over me. I assume it was because of our race differences. The waitress demonstrated her lack of professionalism by failing to serve us as patrons in the same manner. My Co-worker received his drink with a refill without even asking for it. I received my drink with a spoon in it and of course no refill. When I asked the waitress for a refill she did not want to take the glass or bring me another, her lazy hidden bigot self brought the picture to pour in the glass. I should have said just leave the picture if refilling my glass is too much trouble. I fault my self for not caring enough to get the waitresses name. I let her know I did not acknowledge or show respect to her like she did not want to acknowledge me. I sometimes forget that El Cajon is the deep south close to San Diego. It was clear as day I was not good enough for another glass just as she was not good enough for a tip or even a waitress job. A good career choice for someone with racially motivated biases. All patrons with colored skin tone I have warned you of this restaurant and their service. It is such a luxury to get simply service at restaurant with a smile. I looked around the room and all the waitress that afternoon were not remotely perky. There was one waitress or busser with tattoos on her arms that I could tell did not like being there. In fact the only smile we got that day was from the hostess that ended her shift right after we got there. Whatever they pay the waitress receive they don't deserve much more in tips and we walked into the middle of their frustrations. I do not ask to be pampered at a restaurant but a waitress can at least treat all patrons with some manners even if they do not posses good customer service qualities. If you go here make sure you give the manager some suggestion on how the service could be...
Read moreMy bf and I like to eat where we don't have to cook or wash dishes, lol. We went to Applebee's to try their All You Can Eat Special. After looking over the menu, and talking to our waitress, Rachel, we decided to try the 2 for $27 offer, instead. It comes with many choices and several sides with some dishes.you can also choose to have 2 salads or 1 appetizer to share. We chose the mozzarella cheese sticks with Marinara Sauce to start. My bf wanted the Fettachini Alfredo with Chicken and a garlic breadstick. I chose the 8oz Sirloin with sides of baked potato with butter and sour cream, and garlicy green beans. The food was good with some drawbacks. My bf thought the Marinara sauce was salty, but seemed okay to me. His dish was served with very little Alfredo sauce which the server offered to bring some more. Apparently, this may be made fresh each time because by the time it came to the table fresh and hot, my bf was half done. The chicken was tough and dry, so the extra sauce came in handy. My dinner was excellent but for the potato. It was falling apart as I tried to slice it. The skin was splitting in pieces as if it was boiled, not baked. The skin was also plain with no seasoning or oil. The steak and green beans were very tasty, but I needed a togo box. I would still like to sample some of other foods they offer. For the prices were not that high. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the service. It wasn't that busy when we were there about 9pm on a Wednesday. Our server only had four tables plus us, and three of them had already been served food. But she was very abrupt and rushed with us when she finally came to take our order. She did explain some of the options, but left as fast as she could. We felt when she gave us plates for the appetizer and silverware that she almost tossed them on the table as she went by. We were served by someone else, but she did stop by to ask how we liked the food, and dropped off the extra Alfredo sauce. She never asked about dessert, just brought the check and asked if I wanted a box. She was pleasant, but always acted hurried. As I've waitressed most of my life, from fast food all the way to fine dining restaurants, I was trained to give the best service I could. We might try a different time to eat...
Read moreWriting to share my mother’s experience. So my mother and her friend and her friends children went to go eat here today. Their servers name was Nick and he was absolutely terrible. My mom and her friend got their all you can eat special. My mom’s friend bought her daughter two separate meals as well. She had a one year old child who she wanted to give some of her fries to. The child was one years old so he didn’t eat much which is why he was going to get a plate with a few fries from my moms friends meal. Nick refused to give her a small plate to put some fries on it for her friends one year old child. He kept insisting that in order for her one year old to eat, she would have to purchase an additional all you can eat meal. He was so rude and treated them so badly. How are you not going to give a one year old a small plate and expect him to eat an entire all you can eat meal? He refused and was hostile and aggressive. Finally they requested a new server and management provided them a new one and he was absolutely great. Which is why they get an extra star. However, Nick never apologized and retained his rudeness. My friends and I are coming here next week for a birthday and we will make sure to request that we don’t have Nick as a sever. I’m also posting about this experience with Nick all over social media due to being unprofessional and warning my friends with babies that their child can not have any of their food. The new server was awesome and honored the request and didn’t see a problem. Nick was bitter. If you go and have him as your server, make sure you ask for...
