This was our first time here. I took my mom out for this event and it was Sunday afternoon around 2pm. It was not busy at that time yet.
The hostess that greeted us was not very welcoming. It almost looked like she didn't want to be there. Luckily we got seated right away.
The server didn't show up until 5 minutes after we were seated. She didn't even introduce herself. She just started talking our order.
We ordered the spinach dip for appetizer. It was very good and the dip had lots of spinach. Unfortunately, this was the highlight of our meals.
For main courses, I ordered the chicken pot pie and my mom ordered the 8oz. sirloinn(cooked medium). The chicken pot pie was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Would not order it again.
The disaster occurred with the sirloin. When my mom cut into it, we could tell that the steak was raw. It still had that purple look in the middle. She sent it back so that they could cook it correctly. When they brought it back, she could into another section and the meat juices ran red, meaning it was still not cooked medium. At this point, my mom was already grossed out with the whole thing so she didn't want the steak anymore. The waiter took away the plate and walked away without asking if my mom wanted to see the menu again for something else. When she finally came back my mom asked if she could order the lemon pepper chicken.
The chicken was even worse. It was dry and tough. By this time, she had had enough. We called the manager to explain the situation and told her how the food was not acceptable. The manager, unlike the server, seemed genuine in her apologies. She comped us for the spinach dip.
Sad to say I provably will not visit this place again. The side portions were tiny, the food was terrible, and the servers (and by the looks of it, the cooks too) are not properly train. Twice during our visit, we were approached with a drink and a dessert that we had not ordered and was meant for...

I ordered the Chicken Fingers and Ribs Combo with fries which came with a garden salad and ranch dressing. I also shared a croissant appetizer (one) with my Father prior to my meal. I first experienced food poisoning symptoms while sleeping at approximately 2 AM on September 15th, which started with rolling stomach pain that lasted for approximately 7 hours. Was awakened at 9 AM the following morning (September 15th) with severe nausea and vomiting x 6. Symptoms markedly improved throughout the day on September 15th after vomiting. Contacted and spoke with restaurant Manager Kevin in the afternoon on September 15th after waiting on hold for nearly ten minutes. Kevin was cold, flippant, dismissive after discussing my situation and symptoms. He was also argumentative throughout the conversation stating "food poisoning symptoms don't manifest until 12-24 hours after consumption" and "it was probably something else I ate that day because they are constantly checking food temperatures". After explaining the onset of my symptoms he commented, "you got sick 6 hours later or 12, which is it?!" which was very condescending. The only food I consumed prior to my meal at Cheddar's that day was a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios and a banana for breakfast. I reassured Kevin I wasn't seeking punitive damages, a free meal, etc., but instead to notify the restaurant of my situation. Very unimpressed with my encounter/experience, especially when speaking with a member of management who should always have their customer's best interests at heart.
My elderly Father ordered a different entree and didn't experience food poisoning symptoms whatsoever.
The ladies restroom was completely trashed when I used it. I literally couldn't...

The food is kind of pub food- think cracker barrel meets TGI Friday's- which is fine, but none of us had anything we'd rave over. The prices were a little much for that, but for our graduate, it was fine.
The really frustrating part was the servers feeling obligated to involve the kiosk on the table. It definitely seemed like something they had been told to push, but it was extremely frustrating for us, and ultimately caused the only confusion on splitting the checks, since we couldn't correct items assigned to the wrong person, and there was no way to identify which person ordered what when we put it in the kiosk. I wouldn't mind the kiosk as an option for people who don't want to interact, but let the humans working there do their jobs, and don't force technology into every single meal.
Also: the gluten-free options are sparse and lacking flavor, in addition to them being exactly the same things gluten-free customers get at every other restaurant- a side of green beans, a side of corn, a salad, a piece of meat.
All of the people we interacted with were very nice and friendly, as well as being good at their jobs, and they're really the only thing that made this experience...
