Rare Tea West Towne — Restaurant in El Paso

As a boba enthusiast, you can imagine how excited I was to try one of the very FEW boba tea places in EP! With a somewhat broad menu of drinks and sweets to choose from.. I couldn’t wait to put in my order and take a sip. I ordered a classic fruit tea with aloe vera, and some of their oh-so famous black sugar boba (YUM). However, I was informed 15 minutes into waiting, that they were out of their boba. (No option to wait however long for them to make more) I waited another 15 minutes (two guests ahead of me) only for my drink to get mixed up with someone else’s order and then given back to me. HIGHLY disappointing, considering none of the staff apologized for the inconvenience. I understand boba tea is still a fairly new concept to the city, but customer service should be prioritized universally. Overall, if you’re achin’ for a boba cravin’ you might want to explore other options before giving this place a gander. I’ve been here plenty of times and usually the drinks are fine but for the past few months I’ve been ordering the same two drinks and every time they come out tasting differently. It’s hard to order what you want when the taste you’re used to keeps constantly changing and when the store keeps running out of things like boba or certain teas and flavorings. Another time I went in they were having a 50% off deal that I had seen on they’re instagram that only lasted that one day so I went and got some and when I got my receipt I noticed they charged me full price so when I went to go ask about the deal the owner went up and told me that I was supposed to mention the special when I ordered but that he would go back and give me the partial refund for the special so I left and looked back at the post and it said nothing about mentioning it when you order but I gave it a few weeks and checked my bank account and I did not get the partial...

First thought when getting here is why isn't this place more busy, it was empty. None the less this place has a good location and the employee was very cordial, I got the Taro boba tea because to me that's a basic drink that you can't get wrong, but the drink to me imo compared to every other boba place I've gotten the taro from seemed a little watered down. I don't know if that's just how they make it or if perhaps the drink wasn't made right on accident or something, but I would call it a Taro Lite if there's such a thing. Good place all in all, oh and there was some couch inside which was cool, but they had some stains on them, I'd get those taken care of asap.
