Located next to Smokey's Saloon on Viscount you'll find Sushi Time. The loft like appearance and artificial foliage creates a cozy feel as you dine, not to mention the Japanese cat banners gives the place a playful touch. Their Spicy Tonkatsu was good and Avocado Tempura was a pleasant change/twist to other venue's fried avocado appetizer. The service seemed off for some reason, maybe she had a bad day or evening, but we felt an absence in service industry hospitality with a slight irritability with her vibe (we were also the only table there for over almost 2 hours). The squid salad was more fragrant than what I've had in other venues, as in a more fishy fragrance; color of the dish was a little dull too, not as bright which might call to attention the overall freshness. The vegetable teriyaki we ordered seemed to reflect a similar feel. The plate was small as well as the vegetables in the dish; it seemed as if they were leftover vegetable pieces; color of the veggies and texture seemed overcooked or perhaps not as fresh either (the mushrooms were a dead giveaway, and if you've ever overcooked mushrooms, the caramelization and deep maroon hue is a good indicator). On a side note, there was some confusion on the order of that dish; vegetable teriyaki is $9.99, yet rung up as $14.99, we added tofu which was an additional $3, making the dish $17.99. That quality of that dish did not match the price. Aside from that, it's a sweet and friendly place without the heavy customer traffic for those that crave...
Read moreDo not recommend. Came to this restaurant after a long day of work looking forward to sitting down and enjoying a nice meal. There was no indication of the dining room being closed online, however there was a sign on the door that said Togo/delivery only.
I the decided to place a Togo order, but the door was locked. After I had pulled on the door an employee came to the door and I asked to place a Togo order and he then let me inside. I asked for a menu and they did not have any. He told me to go back outside and look at the paper that was posted on the window. I told him what I would like to order and then paid. The employee said it would be about 10 min. I went to go sit down to wait for my order when he said “oh, you want to wait inside?” Which I found odd.
I got my food and went back to my hotel to eat(5min drive). When I got to my hotel there was no soy sauce, ginger, or wasabi. Nor was I offered any at any point. Food was just okay, but definitely not worth the price of the under filled sushi.
Out of curiosity I did ask how long the dining room had been closed and the employee did say “since the pandemic” and you can definitely tell. I am surprised this restaurant is able to stay open with the bad service, mediocre food, and no...
Read moreIf you look at the udon noodles section in the menu there's only three options: chicken, tempura, or beef. With each option saying you get that with vegetables, thick noodles and soup. Well I'm used to tempura being tempura shrimp but in this case it was just tempura veggies. How does tempura veggies get priced the same as chicken?! Also, the udon broth is nothing like any of the udon soup I've had before. And when I was asked what I would like to drink, I asked for hot water. Don't try to upsell me hot green tea. I saw your menu, and I asked for hot water. For a bowl like this, just watered down flavored udon soup, with noodles, slices of onions/carrots for $10??! I'll drive to Dragonfly for a Tonkatsu ramen which the broth is a lot more flavorful and satisfying. AND when I show up it was empty. That was a warning sign I should have taken up on! When I walk in, this man, maybe the owner or manager was just sitting at his table and just said hi. Didn't know if I should take a seat or how did this work? I was not happy and only took two bites....
