I had the worst experience at the Jersey Mikes location in the Newark Aiport in Terminal A, around 11:00am 1/21/2025. This was my first time going to a Jersey Mike’s, so my experience is my lasting impression of the establishment. As soon as I approached the female behind the counter, she turned to her co-worker in disgust asking her where all these people had come from. I looked back and saw there was a long line. After that she asked me in a hostile and impatient manner what I ordered and how I wanted it. She rushed through her questioning asking if I wanted it Mikes Way. When I asked what that was, she grew short and said it again without clarifying what “Mikes way” was. Fortunately the customer near me pointed to a sign that described what it was. When my sister asked started explaining what she wanted, the Mike’s employee cut her off and very rudely asked what she did not want on her sandwich. After we finally got through our order, the cashier very dryly processed and took my payment. The entire crew clearly did not like the idea of having a long line and communicated to all customers they did not like their job. I did not leave a tip, nor did I add anything else to my order (my daughter ran up to try and add to the order). I instead went to the Mediterranean place nearby rather than submit to giving the establishment any more money. I had a horrible experience, and will never go to a Jersey Mike’s again. This terrible experience will remain my impression of...
Read moreWould give it a 1 star but the food was still good. Customer service was horrible. Employees were ignoring customers and making sandwiches for themselves for their break. I was in front of my husband, we ordered 3 sandwiches, 3 drinks and 3 chips. I walked up to the register and said "I have two number 7s and a number 13, all with chips and a drink." The woman was laughing with her coworker and ignoring me, she tapped the screen for me to pay so I swiped my card before I was even told the total. I walked to our table while my husband waited for his sandwich, which was sitting wrapped behind the counter while the employees chatted and continued to ignore us. I noticed the employee was talking to my husband so I walked back over. She said that she did not charge me for the chips and drinks because she didn't see me. I explained thar I had told her what I had, but she was not listening to me and was too busy chatting. She started to get angry and yell at us, saying it was never even that serious and we didn't need to attack her. We took the chips and drinks and left. On top of all of this, my husbands sanwich order was wrong. We chose not to fight with them about that. The whole time we ate, she was scowling at us and talking about us with coworkers and pointing at us while actively ignoring the customers directly in front of her. Total lack of attention and human decency. Don't eat here unless you want to be ignored, bullied, charged extra, and late for...
Read moreJersey Mike's! - this location is absolutely wrecking your brand. As I sat in the line for over 30 minutes and watched 8 or 9 people in front of me walk away, out of time and in extreme frustration, I couldn't help but wonder how many potential franchise investors experience this disaster of a location and run away, screaming.
While every other location in every other state I have visited has been AWESOME, this location in NEW JERSEY has assembled the most incredible collection of unmotivated, depressed, slow moving, and void of enthusiasm employees I've seen. They would be well suited for working in a city morgue. This management team clearly needs some support in training & staffing with enough people to meet the demand of the dozens of people literally lined up waiting to hand you their money. Instead, you are turning your customers away in droves. And the ones who manage to endure the slowness of the line are met at the end with a Steven Wright-esque monotone: "sorry, no hot sandwiches." Think of the thousands of people who come into the airport in New Jersey each day, and who have probably only ever heard about Jersey Mike's, but never before had the chance to eat there....and you greet them with this experience? Try Harder.
However, while the service was slow and awful, the employees did pile an unusually large amount of meat on the very...
