We visited this mall as part of our weird and wacky honeymoon road trip, and I happened upon this place while I was waiting for my husband to get done playing a virtual reality thing. I was absolutely blown away by how good the chicken gyro I got was!!!!! I've had many, MANY gyros in my life, but this one was genuinely the best. I was grumpy, tired, hot - I was expecting to hate whatever food I ate. But goodness gracious, I took one bite and absolutely lost my mind - HOW is THE yummiest gyro I've ever had...made in a mall in a state I'd never been in before that day?? Obviously I took a picture and told everyone about it, and when my vegan husband got done with his game, I sent him up to get himself some food, too. He'd planned to get it "to go" and eat it at our hotel, but he seriously sat in the car and downed the whole thing because it looked and smelled too good to wait even 15 minutes. Phenomenal. No clue how or why it's so good, but I wish these gyros could magically appear closer to where we live. I would eat one every other day and never get sick of them. This place is definitely a hidden gem. Go to that mall and GET THAT GYRO!!!! (Also? Generous amount of food for the price, I gotta say. Had to eat a bunch of the gyro filling with a fork before I could even begin to get the pita to wrap/close.)

We popped into Sam's Gyros in in E-Town for a quick restroom break for my 5-year-old, and I figured I’d grab some hummus while we were there. Best spontaneous decision I’ve made in a while. Sam (Mina), the man behind the counter, has a heart as warm as a Kentucky summer and a smile to match. We only ordered a side of falafel and hummus because we had just eaten lunch and how I wish lunch was here instead. While we waited, he offered us a sample of his chicken gyro—and let me tell you, it stopped us in our tracks. Absolutely packed with flavor. Sam’s kindness and hospitality remind you of what Southern service is supposed to feel like. You can tell he cares about people just as much as he cares about good food—which is saying a lot, because the food is phenomenal. E-Town is lucky to have someone like Sam bringing this kind of flavor and heart to the community. Make a point to stop in, and I guarantee it’ll quickly become part of your regular routine. And keep an eye out—his brother’s opening a shop up the road in Radcliff too. If it’s anything like this spot, we’re all in for a treat.

This is what you get for $13. I’m convinced these reviews have never had a real or good gyro. The food was ok, but with the following recommendations, could be closer in quality that comes with the $13 price tag. 1. Cook your lamb meat on the spit and cut it fresh for every gyro. The lamb meat is currently stored in an aluminum container where it loses flavor and never gets toasted to add to the actually quality of the meal. 2. Toast your pita bread on the griddle. Not hard and makes for an amazing gyro. 3. Add more meat. Your current serving size does not merit a $13 price tag. 4. Less sauce. Your sauce is excellent, but you add too much. 5. Consider your prices. Again, if your market is already paying you $13 for what I got for lunch I get it. But I’m going to be honest about what I received. Nice place, overpriced, has a ton of potential.

The prices are reasonable, costs about the same for me and my wife as most places. I do wish it was a little cheaper though, I ordered a number 7 which was the lamb and we had 2 pieces of baklava a piece. I am beyond stuffed, I actually need to sit here for a little bit before I can move. The owner is an amazing cook he had no problem with us having our cats with us. They were of course in the backpack carrier and we left them in there but sat them in the chair with us to keep them out of the heat while we had our place fumigated. Stuffing myself is my own fault, but you just want to keep eating it until it's all gone. I havent had many cuisines like this but this one is by far the best one I've had, I just wish instead of tables there was beds so I can also take a nap. The owner is very friendly, very helpful and very nice. I wish all restaurant owners were like this he really cares about his customers. Bathroom is pretty clean and he buys quality toilet paper, which most people never even notice but it feels...
