I can’t share enough how incredible the experience was, how safe I felt in regards to the pandemic, including how incredible the staff is at this location.
Specifically want to say thank you to Sherry, Tom and Gail C for making this visit so great!
The establishment is very beautiful outside and inside. Originally, I made a reservation through their website for the wine tasting for 2 people, for a Wednesday evening at 5:00 PM and made reservations to dine at 7:00 PM through the open table app. I definitely recommend to book the wine tasting online or call, since it is not available on the open table app. It does eventually sync, but it is better to make the reservation then to walk-in as it does get booked. Each tasting reservation will be for 45 minutes, so they have time to sanitize and prepare the space for the next customer. They have social distancing markings on the floor and hand sanitizer stations available. All staff also had on masks.
When I walked in, I was greeted right away. They have numbers by each tasting station. By each testing station is a lamented sign just asking to make sure to wear your mask when a team member is by and helping you. My friend was running a few minutes late, so I did start the wine tasting alone. We had the pleasure tasting with Sherry and Tom. Both were very friendly, welcoming, personable and answered all of our questions. Tom also provided great tips and facts! For example, he mentioned if I don’t have a aerator, to let the wine sit without the cork a few minutes or more. Also, taught us that sangria means blood! Before my friend arrived, Sherry explained to me about the wine club they offer. I do visit Coopers Hawk often and heard of the membership, but Sherry went into greater detail and helped me sign up for the 2 bottle membership. I could write another novel how great and worth the membership is! For details, I recommend to visit your local Cooper’s Hawk or check online. Part of the 2-bottle membership you receive a monthly tasting experience for two which is a $16 value. Since I signed up, the tasting for my friend and I were covered! Sherry provided outstanding customer service and made sure each tasting was to our liking. On top of a great tasting experience with Sherry, our dining reservation was for 7:00 PM. Since our tasting experience ended at 6:00 PM we we’re going to see if there was a spot open at the bar, BUT Sherry talked with the hostess and they had a table available to take us sooner.
Once we sat down, our waitress was Gail C. Gail was just a great. She was friendly, welcoming and made great recommendations on what to order. Customers were seated every other table to promote social distancing and the tables are not on top of each other. The menu is limited which I was a little bummed they didn’t have the calamari or charcuterie board which is my fav at CH. Instead, we tried their Mexican drunken shrimp which was so delicious! It is Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp, Tequila Lime Butter Sauce, Fresh Guacamole with jalapeños. The guacamole was so good I was dipping my pretzel bread in it and even eating it with a fork. (I know I’m weird). For our entrees, my friend tried their Turkey burger and I did their blue cheese and crispy onion burger. I normally order their steak, pasta, chicken or seafood, but WOW both burgers were so good and cooked perfectly. Also, I love the Chipotle Mayo on my burger. For dessert, it was also a limited menu and we ordered some type of chocolate chip cookie with melted Reese’s and vanilla ice cream. It was a great way to finish the evening.
Our favorite drinks of the evening was the anniversary blend and the white sangria.
CH is always great, but I definitely recommend...
Read moreI had the most amazing experience at Coopers Hawk in Arlington Heights, IL this evening thanks to Paul and his staff. I went in there with what I thought was a rather crazy request and I was treated absolutely favorably. My sister Gerri suffered a stroke 2 days ago and is now hospitalized at NCH. She was cleared just today to eat soft puréed food and, was given a cafeteria meal. Like most of us, she wasn’t too happy with it. She cannot speak yet but, she can clearly communicate with a letter board. All she wanted was REAL MASHED POTATOES. I thought of Coopers Hawk, they are a fabulous steak restaurant of course they would have mashed potatoes. I went in thinking that these people are gonna think I’m nuts. I asked a gentleman behind the counter for a serving of potatoes with some butter to go and he in turn told Mr. Paul. I explained the weird order and the situation while Mr. Paul as he was packing it up, I also ordered 4 truffles to take back to family waiting in Gerri’s room. In the end, kind Mr. Paul comped both the potatoes and the truffles he said he was sorry for Gerri’s situation and wished her a speedy recovery. I got to the hospital and rushed to her room. I opened the potatoes, added the butter and stirred them up. She took her first spoonful and, she was in absolute heaven. She had the biggest smile her eyes kinda rolled back and while she can’t speak, she let us know how truly happy she was. It was like she had never had anything like it. It was all she wanted and Coopers Hawk made it happen for her. We are sooo grateful to everyone at the Arlington Heights location for their kindness, compassion and making one very sick lady VERY...
Read moreWent to eat last night to celebrate my brother's birthday. There were 4 of us. We got an appetizer, 4 entrees, a bottle of wine, and dessert. Walked away with a $200 bill and were not overly impressed. I saw a crab risotto dish on the specials so I asked if they used arborio rice because if not I would order something else. The waitress asked the chef, who responded that it's not arborio but I would not notice a difference. Well they finally brought the food and sure enough, it was regular rice, not arborio, and everyone at the table tried it and agreed. The rice was also not fully cooked and chewy, and the veggies in the rice could have used a bit more cook time too. I told the waitress the chef lied, I did notice. But I didn't want to send it back and wait for them to cook something else, and they did have real crab on the top. But she didn't do anything and I paid $35 for some undercooked regular rice. Very disappointed. My sister ordered the butternut squash gnocchi which had only a butternut glaze and no chunks of squash. Disappointed. Then came dessert, we ordered the special lemon cake with blueberry sauce, and I thought it was good, but much more blueberry than lemon, and the cake was so overcooked it caramelized and was chewy. We didn't finish it. And we would not have ordered dessert if we knew they would bring something for my brother's birthday, which they did and he took home. The wine was good. But all 4 of us agree, they should know the types of rice and the dishes should be better for the high prices they charge. This was my 3rd visit and I haven't been...
