Bruff's — Restaurant in Emporia

So disappointed in Bruffs. I tried calling 4 times to place an order. Someone picked up and hung it back up each time. I would be more understanding if they were busy. On my 4th call I was in the parking lot. 22 cars on the lot, how many belong to the employees? Walked in 2 standing by the door, 3 at the bar chatting. I asked one at the door if the phones were broke, they said no. Went to place my order but they don't do steak bites anymore and I'm not paying $27 for an 8 oz steak. I ordered husband's food. Individual behind the bar said phones are messed up and I replied that isnt what that person told me. I miss the other owners. I pray he is resting in peace. Im sad that the quality of service has gone down so much. In the beginning with the new owners I gave it tome to get adjusted but it hasn't gotten any better. We stopped being regulars because of this. It makes me so sad because my husband and I had always enjoyed coming there but the past year it has really ranked. I understand the price increases because inflation is a thing and they need to make their money. But you don't sacrifice service and that is what has me upset. Sadly I won't be spending anymore...

The experience was very disappointing. I ordered the chopsteak without mushrooms. It came with some mushrooms, but also with some unexpected jalapeños. Jalapeños were not supposed to be in the dish. At first, I thought it was just one and maybe fell into the plate from being a busy kitchen. But there were three or four so that tells me carelessness. The actual chopsteak was tasty, but the mashed potatoes tasted sour, couldn’t eat them. My husband said his steak was overcooked but edible. My brother said the chicken fried steak was really good but the baked potato was old and not good. Our buddy had what we think was roast beef under his cheeseburger. When I mentioned the sour mashed potatoes and my buddy mentioned the roast beef, the server said “that’s not good”. Service was poor and definitely lacking. I don’t ever expect a discount at a restaurant. But, I don’t expect to be charged for food that I cannot eat. I could not eat the mashed potatoes, they tasted like sour milk was used. I was still charged for them. And she even put my brother‘s drink on my ticket. Our ticket was over $100 for three people. Will...

Used to frequent this sports bar years ago, I believe it's under new ownership now. The menu is good, very attentive waitresses. Our group chose several different entrees, the fried shrimp looked pretty overdone but tasted okay with cocktail sauce, the steak burger was cooked medium well (many people prefer it, a bit over cooked for my preference), fries were good as were the sweet potato fries. NOW... the silverware. My forks as well as knife was pretty disgusting, I took note of the others silverware at our table and, without exception, all were pretty dirty. Fortunately, we had hand sanitizer and after a little scrubbing, we used them without complaining to our waitress. We figured they would have brought out more just as dirty. The drink glasses appeared to be a little beat up around the edges, didn't want to look too closely considering the silverware.
