From the street, the place is quite unassuming. It blends with the rest of the store fronts. However, once inside, it's a different story. The place was packed and I sat at the counter. There are pictures from the 50's-60's diners, as well as music from the era playing. The staff is very courteous, professional, and efficient. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with hash browns and applewood bacon (crisp). The order was out to me in less than 10 minutes, even though the diner was fully loaded. The eggs were poached perfectly. The hollandaise was smooth without being the least bit broken. The hash browns had a crunchy, golden crust while tender inside. The 🥓 was beautifully crisp. Another impressive attribute of the staff is that they checked on me regularly despite the crowd. It was an enjoyable first visit this diner.

Wonderful atmosphere! Excellent food! I had their burger melt, my love had their meatball melt. Both of us LOVED every bite! We both ordered onion rings which were fantastic! The coffee was fresh and their Boozy Shakes are a delicious adult take on the milkshake! My love had their Mudslide shake and their wonderful restaurant staff created a vanilla twist just for me! The Not-So-Mudslide! They subbed out chocolate and the Godiva liquor for an all vanilla and vanilla vodka plus Kahlua mix that was absolutely original and divine! The price of this dining experience? True diner form, coming in at just under 40 bucks! Excellent in both quality and quantity! Doggy bag home meant a nosh for later! Quite the delicious souvenir! Highly recommended!

Across from a park, it has a shiny polished look of a 50's diner with corresponding music playing. The staff look young and are all business. I was shocked that I got my turkey open face sandwich within *5 minutes* of ordering! I thought the baked mini carrots lacked flavor but the turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy tasted perfect. They have some adult beverages. They take credit cards. There were mostly families with children, but I didn't see booster seats or high chairs. The bathroom is one stall and has grab bars and a changing table. A note: in WNY many municipalities don't charge for street parking on weekends, but on this street you do need to feed the coin-operated meter on Saturdays.

Was there 12-23-2018 around noon time. Ordered a meatball melt with onion rings. Got my order and had fries instead. Waitress said they was out of onion rings. "OK" you should have told me that, but no big deal. Also have to ask for the pickle that didn't come with the meal like the menu said. Little problems, but they was busy. Now to the BIG problem. As I was sitting there looking around waiting for my food I noticed an African American young man sitting at the next little table. He had his pants down below his underwear to where you can see part of his leg. I said something to the waitress about it and she said that he was homeless and they was letting him keep warm. "OK" letting him keep warm, but I said "kind of unsanitary for him to have his pants down in a restaurant." People are trying to eat and this person has his pants down & they didn't care. How many other tables did this person sit at with his pants down and "did he have any kind of accidents on the seats ?" I will never eat there again and I am thinking about calling the health department about this. If he did have an accident on one of the seats, did the restaurant clean them properly. Just think about it. I sat down and touched the seat while sitting down then ate my sandwich. I think I'm going to be sick now knowing this person might have had an accident on the seat I was...

I really want to like this place, it has very cool retro furnishings and a great-looking food menu. I've heard friends rave about it. I visited Sunday 2/11 at 1:00pm with my daughter to find a wait to be seated (expected and no big deal). We were seated within the quoted time of 20 minutes (so far so good). It took a good 10-12 minutes to be greeted by our server so we placed both our drink order and food order, our milkshakes come out in a respectable amount of time given how busy it was.

A half hour goes by, others that were sat at the same time we were received their food (we ordered a short stack and a philly steak sandwich), I was told the kitchen was backed up and it would be another 20 minutes, so I asked for the food to be boxed up to go. The server was apologetic as could be which was great.

This was my second time visiting at that time on a Sunday, experiencing the same issue. Two servers and a hostess were all I saw working (perhaps I missed another?) the floor, which felt inadequate. Every diner I've visited has turned food quickly. Please staff Sunday appropriately, I think it would do you a world of good. I want to eat here because it's cool and the food was great. I just can't have my day sidetracked every...

Dave's Diner is a bit of an enigma. We visited here our first morning in Erie. Breakfast was AMAZING!! We had the fried steak and eggs and hash. Everything was cooked perfectly and well flavoured. Service was fast and attentive. We agreed to return the next day.

Here is where things change. Instead of breakfast we order lunch. I had what they call then "Greek" Combo which is described as a hamburger, hot and french fries, all covered with a special "Greek" sauce. The description did mention cheddar cheese which threw me off a bit for a "Greek" item but figured it was a local revision. What I received could only be described as a sloppy joe, hot dog and french fries all smothered is cheddar cheese and sloppy joe mix. There was absolutely nothing Greek about the meal. The amount of grease in the meat and mass of cheddar could cause a heart attack in seconds. Probability of death aside, the taste of everything was fine but I would not recommend the "Greek" Combo as it is not Greek in anyway and must have over 3500 calories. My guest ordered a Melt which tasted very good but was also excessively greasy.

I have to recommend Dave's Dinner for their amazing breakfast and exceptional service but do have to warn against...
