My recent visit to Smokin’ Dave’s BBQ & Brew in Estes Park was an incredible culinary experience that left my husband and me thoroughly satisfied. From the moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed by a warm, rustic ambiance that perfectly complements the hearty food they serve.
Chicken I ordered the smoked chicken, and it was nothing short of perfection. The chicken was tender and juicy, with a delicious smoky flavor that was infused throughout the meat. The crispy skin had a delightful spice rub that added an extra kick, making every bite a savory delight.
Ribs My husband opted for the ribs, and they were equally impressive. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, coated in a rich, tangy BBQ sauce that had just the right balance of sweetness and spice. He couldn’t stop raving about how well-seasoned and perfectly cooked they were.
Sides and Appetizers The sides at Smokin’ Dave’s are not to be overlooked. We shared a variety of them, and each one was a treat in its own right:
Baked Beans: The baked beans were flavorful and hearty, with a hint of sweetness that paired beautifully with the savory BBQ dishes.
Fried Okra: The fried okra was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, seasoned to perfection. It was a deliciously crunchy addition to our meal.
Cornbread: The cornbread was moist and slightly sweet, with a wonderful crumbly texture that made it an ideal complement to the savory meats.
Potato Salad: The potato salad was creamy and well-seasoned, with just the right amount of tanginess. It added a refreshing touch to our hearty meal.
Wings: As an appetizer, we ordered the wings, which were crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. Whether you prefer them smothered in BBQ sauce or plain, they are a must-try for any wing enthusiast.
Overall Experience The service at Smokin’ Dave’s was friendly and attentive, with staff members who were clearly passionate about their food and eager to ensure that we had an enjoyable dining experience. The portions were generous, providing excellent value for the price, and the food quality was consistently high across all the dishes we tried.
Whether you’re a local or just visiting Estes Park, Smokin’ Dave’s BBQ & Brew is a must-visit destination for any barbecue lover. With their mouthwatering selection of meats, delectable sides, and welcoming atmosphere, it's no wonder this place has become a favorite among locals and tourists alike. We can’t wait to return for another round of their...
Read moreI came to Estes Park last month with six other guys for a bachelor party. We rented a giant cabin, explored the Rocky Mountains, and ate a lot of good food. One night, we decided to get takeout from Smokin' Dave's. We do not have any regrets.
We put our heads together and ordered the Big Kahuna Belly Buster (Includes: Full Rack of St. Louis Pork Ribs, Whole Chicken, ½ lb Brisket, ½ lb Pork, 4 large sides, and 6 pieces of cornbread). The sides we chose were Sautéed Green Beans, Natural Cut Potato Fries, Sweet Potato Fries, and Potato Salad.
Overall, this was a very good value. Buying in bulk at barbecue joints is literally always worth it if you can decided what to split with other people. All the meat was solid. Very good ribs, very good chicken, very ok brisket, and very good pulled pork. It is sauce-less pulled pork, though, so I recommend putting one of their delicious sauces on it before you eat it. I recommend the the Carolina style. Very good.
As for the sides, all were winners. The green beans had a nice snap to them, the sweet potato fries had that hint of sweetness, the regular fries were not too greasy, and the potato salad was actually my favorite. Like and gloopy with firm but cooked pieces of potato throughout. Quite nice.
And the cornbread muffins were also good.
Overall, this place was not the best barbecue of all time, but there was also absolutely nothing wrong with it, it was delicious, and if I ever come back to Estes Park, this will be my first stop, and it should be your...
Read moreMy family has enjoyed dining here in the past, and we actually altered plans tonight from a “fancy” establishment to this restaurant because of previous good experiences. Huge mistake. Upon entering the young man serving as “host” was too busy laying across the counter and playing on his phone to greet us. When he realized we were waiting he was incredibly rude and simply said “it’s going to be 10 minutes.” We were seated at the same exact table we’ve been seated in the past, but the music was blaring so loud my wife and I couldn’t hear each other speak. We have four very young children and none of us could hear one another over the music. The speaker was directly over our table. We asked a server who was walking by if they could turn down the music— he said they would. Nope. Our waitress finally came to take our order and she couldn’t hear us over the music as well. She seemed annoyed to be at work and never smiled or acted in a courteous manner. We again asked her to see about turning things down. She said “they already did.” WOW. I finally asked to speak to the manager. Turns out he (“Ricky”) was the individual we initially spoke with, and he again said “we did turn it down.” Great customer service. Don’t lie to me. Our food arrived within 4-5 minutes of ordering, and not all of us ordered bbq, which tells me everything was pre-made and quickly reheated. We left without touching our meals and found another place to dine. My family hasn’t had such rude and unpleasant customer service like...
