um? $39 for one dish? $65 for a vegetarian combo? is this for real? I know you just landed in a brick and mortar spot, but you're going to fail if you don't lower your prices Can someone post a picture of the new menu at the restaurant, the menu showing is from the food truck, which had reasonable prices but suddenly the website shows ridiculous outrageous prices that seem unreal I hope they're not real edit: $39 for combo of 3 items, got it...still ridiculous! i understand u went from a food truck to a restaurant, but do u understand we just came out of a pandemic that shut down the WORLD? u are not going to succeed with these prices. $65 for a vegetarian combo meal? the ppl who want to support u can't afford that!

I tried Makedas at the Eugene Saturday market. They were a very popular and busy vendor. The food is well spiced and you can watch it being cooked in front of you. The family cooking is friendly too. Portions were generous and I left full after trying the beef tibs. It was great to try Ethiopian cuisine and look forward to trying their other dishes.

I fortunately got to the restaurant just after It opened at 5 PM and it was, of course, uncrowded. In fact, I think I was the only first person there for about 10 minutes.

By the time I left the place was virtually full of hungry people.

There was a little bit of disorganization, because they were short one staff member, but that was not important.

The woman who was the manager who greeted me, and I think she was one of the owners, was one of the friendliest people I’ve ever met.

I had the beef tibs, served on wonderful injera bread to sop up the beef and vegetables and made, I guess you could call them “Ethiopian tacos,” using the injera bread.

I’ve had Ethiopian food in Houston and Washington DC,—well over a dozen Ethiopian restaurants there, some right next to each other in NW D.C., close to Embassy Row, and this food at Makeda’s was just as good or better. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody. I’m looking forward to going back and bringing friends with me. Greg...

There are not enough kind things I can say about the people who work here. As an Ethiopian myself, living in Eugene is tough when it comes to connecting with home. There are no Ethiopian restaurants in the area! The lovely staff here not only accommodated my homesickness by providing wonderful food, but the conversations and the passion of the two owners really resonated with me. This is definitely a place that reminds me of home and I am so glad I found it! I recommend giving this place a try if you’ve never had Ethiopian or Eritrean cuisine because this is one of the best introductions you’ll ever get. The food is absolutely delicious and flavorful! I would rate it above five...
