I wish it was possible to give more than 5 stars! I can't begin to say how wonderful this restaurant is! It was crazy busy, being the zombie crawl weekend, but they got us in quickly. The host was very kind and apologetic about us having to wait but we knew we'd have to. He told us 20 minutes but it was about 10. The inside of the restaurant is very pub like. Very cozy and comfortable. They have a couple of booths that are booths (if you look at the photos you'll understand). Our waiter was a very sweet young man and I'm sorry I can't remember his name. Our drink order came out fast, which was shocking, given the large crowd. The food was fantastic! The cheese and pretzel appetizer was soooooo good. I joked with my husband that if we don't have enough pretzel to finish the cheese, I was just going to dig in with a spoon. It was that good. I had the shepherds pie and loved it. Great flavor. It wasn't traditional, not made with lamb so it was more of a cowboy pie, but it was absolutely yummy. My husband had the rueben sandwich and he said it was the best one he'd ever had. We had some cocktails. I had the luck of the Irish and he had the Irish maid. Both were very good and refreshing. Sweet but not too sweet. This was our anniversary weekend and we got married in Alaska, where duck farts are common and we had a lot of them there. Well when I went to the bathroom my husband ordered us duck farts, which McGarity's doesn't make a lot of, I'm sure. But when he asked, they checked the ingredients and made them! It was a pleasant suprise! McGarity's is definitely going to be one of the places we must go to every time we come to Eureka Springs. I can't wait to go back! We loved this place and it was actually one of my favorite things we did while in town! 20/10!!! Good job McGarity's! ❤️🍀 I would also love to mention that they supplied feminine hygiene products in the bathroom. They also have a sign asking for people to NOT tip on take...
Read moreThe place looked cool on the inside. I was hoping the food would be good too but I was highly disappointed. We ordered two lettuce wedge salads to start. The salad was huge and occupied the entire plate. It was nearly impossible to cut into it without making huge mess. It was very difficult to eat. It was pretty much flavorless as far as the veggies. The lettuce tasted like water. I think the tomatoes had been stored in the fridge bc they had no taste, the red onions were too strong and the avocado was old and mushy. Mind you, this salad was $17. It did have a lot of blue cheese, too much if you ask me and not enough dressing. I asked for more dressing to make it more palatable and when I saw the check I was charged for the little bit of ranch dressing the server brought me. There was absolutely no thought put into this dish or how a customer would eat this. My hubby had the Shepard’s pie and he like it, which is why I’m giving it two stars. I had the jackfruit lemon pasta and it was the worst pasta dish I’ve ever had in my life. There was no “sauce” at all. It was very dry but covered in herbs; which I think were old bc they barely had any flavor. The jackfruit tasted weird and not well prepared. It was like they got some boiled penne, opened a can of Jackfruit threw some herbs in and squeeze a lemon on top of it and called it a day. For this they charged me $16. I was starving so I had a few bites, but I couldn’t eat it anymore. It was that bad. I would be embarrassed to serve this to anyone at my house. So all in all our check was a little over $80 for two people. The food is overpriced and not fresh. I would never go back here or recommend it to anyone. We should’ve went to Pizza Hut which is right there within walking distance or bought frozen microwave food from Walmart. Frozen dinners would’ve tasted better and been a fraction...
Read moreThis may have been on of my favorite restaurant experiences I've ever had. We all shared bites of each other's dishes at the table and not one of us were disappointed in any way. The serving sizes were phenomenal, with my parents being able to take home another half of their meal. I had the shepherds pie and the only reason I didn't have left overs is because I couldn't stop eating. None of us really wanted to. They had a great Guiness. The atmosphere was amazingly comfy and not overbearing. It really felt like walking into a friend's living room and just being able to chill. The place was beautiful, even the plating was beautiful. The fry basket had a cute little snip of a fake Irish news article about the loch ness monster.
The shepherds pie was incredibly hearty and flavorful, there was a massive amount of meat. The gravy was so deep and full bodied that it penetrated even the thick mashed potatoes. My stepfather got the French dip which had an incredible aus jues. My mother got the shrimp garlic pasta. While it was slightly one noted (garlic of course) it was very creamy and buttery and the pasta was cooked beautifully. So, I really couldn't expect better with the name of the dish being garlic pasta.
The wait staff was incredibly nice and everybody greeted us when we walked through the door. We got in rather late and they happened to be opened so we stopped by. It was around 9 PM, I honestly have no idea how the place was not packed until closing. We got our food quickly, the waitress checked on us multiple times throughout the experience, and the food was amazing. The only complaint here is how gross we all feel after absolutely engorging...
