Ordered fried mushroom appetizer in the form of an ala carté togo lunchy/snack-type situation. The batter was appropriate to the vegetable being fried and sufficiently coated the lil' mushies. The sauces were PLENTIFUL and varied. All told, the amount of saprophytes served up equaled exactly 9. Approx 180g average cost =1$. The number of ramekins filled with sauces equaled 3. Approx 5oz total (Chipotle mayo and Ranch) $= +/- .50. The improvements that I can see as being needful are: The mushrooms before being battered and abused/fried need to have their stems re-cut, as time turns these initial "harvesting" cuts at the foot of the shrooms somewhat woody, and frying this tougher piece of the stalk inside a battered shell along with some resident moisture from the mushroom itself lends to the "foot" of the mushroom texture and tooth of a slimy scab😢(sad face). The mushrooms were cooked perfectly, thankfully. As any variances in temperature can ruin the tender fellas. There were 9 individual fried fungal reproductive parts in my order, which came to 10$(menu price, 13$ including tip). And I always add the tip to the total on the restaurants end. As the only reason tipping is necessary is because restaurants are still paying floorstaff minimum wage, when they should've raised pay rates commensurate to cost of living/inflation increases rather than put the burden of care on the public, their customers. But that's what the masses are for; carrying the burden of budget cuts, and rising rates so that the profit margin may stay somewhat stable, and knowable. (I wish I would've been asked first 😜)

The service I received was perfect. Attentive, pleasant, and polite. Doing the math the lil guys came to around $1.44 each. Almost a buck fifty a piece for an item that was first (skillfully)dropped in batter, then (skillfully)dropped into the fryer, and then finally(skillfully)dropped onto a plate. I was not as disappointed (tho, the amount of mushrooms I received this time in comparison to the last time(2 years ago) was a little disheartening) as much as I was not surprised that whomever is making the calls regarding pricing and portions has decided to take the easy route in navigating these interesting financial times. I figure that I could've just put down "9 mushrooms for 13$" and left it at that, but I doubt that review would have the...

We got seated right away. Out server was very nice but seemed very unsure of herself.

We were very excited to eat after a long day of traveling. My son got a chicken Ceasar salad that he didn't like and started to make him sick after just a couple bites. He said it didn't taste right so my wife and daughter both tasted it and agreed.

I asked for the $39 ribeye without any of the sides that I can't eat. The waitress had to ask the owner (Amy) if she would be able to give me something in place of the sides (commonly restaurants substitute an egg, bacon or shrimp). Amy was unwilling to work w my dietary restrictions and refused to sell me a steak Ala carte or give any substitute for the things I can't eat.

When the bill came Amy only allowed the server to remove $10 off the chicken Ceasars salad and made us pay $6 for a meal that made my son not feel well. I asked the server if the owner (Amy) was in the restaurant and she said yes. I asked her to get Amy so I could ask why she insists on charging anything for a meal that mad emy son not feel well. I also wanted to suggest she come up w a way to work with a person like me who has some dietary restrictions. The server went back to talk to Amy (the owner) and returned w a business card for us to talk or communicate with the manager later. What a cowardly thing to do and not a great way to start our vacation.

The other food was alright. We had some class, shrimp, soup and sandwich. We spent over $100 but they missed out on buying the ribeye and more.

I would pick somewhere else to go. This place is not interested in really helping you have a great dining experience:(

I'm the owner of a small business and hate to do this to people. However, this owner earned this grade by not being willing to come out and work with a customer on...

I usually really enjoy myself when I visit but this time was truly horrible. Our waitress didn't know anything about the menu and then got irritated with me for asking questions she had no idea about. She ha no idea the cost of anything or what went in each dish. She kept having to go back to the kitchen to ask and was clearly annoyed by that too. After that she avoided us all together. Luckily the guy that was there came over and was at least nice to us. When the food came out there was a large blonde hair in it that was the waitresses. When my new food came out she slapped it down in front of me as angerly asked if there was anything we needed. My 8 year old was trying to ask for a refill on his soda but she ignored him and walked as fast as she could away to the next table. The replacement food I got was horrible but I'm pretty sure they just took the shrimp and the hair out of it and called it good because it came out way to fast for them to of made a new plate of Alfredo with shrimp and scallops. I took the food home not even thinking about it but I'm definitely not eating that so thanks for wasting almost 50 bucks of my money. The waitress didn't even apologize for any of it. So I basically paid 70 bucks for my kids to have chicken nuggets. Thanks for ruining this place for me. I will be calling to speak with someone when she is not there. This was unacceptable and that lady should either be retrained properly or let go. Someone like that really shouldn't be in customer service. She acted like a pouting child that got her feelings hurt over just asking questions she clearly...

So we are on a road trip and we came to Eureka craving seafood. You would think that you would be able to get good seafood and a good bowl of clam chowder on the California coast, they were out, but Jack's proved us wrong. Let's start off with a poor service from the very beginning and the fact that we watched them serve several other people who were seated after. Some people who seated 10 minutes after us their order was taken and they were halfway done with their drinks before we were finally able to flag somebody down to take our order. You would think you couldn't screw up a crab sandwich or a shrimp po-boy but Jacks again proved us wrong. The crab sandwich was tasteless and canned crab for $20 which was an absolute rip off, and 13 french fries. The shrimp po-boy, incredibly small portion, which was $17, and an absolute ripoff. And supposed to be shrimp but we're pretty sure was a switch a roo with calamari and exactly 11 French fries. And yes we counted. Service was atrocious. We will never go back. It's very rare that you sit in a restaurant eating the food you paid for, and trying to track down a KFC so that you can go get a chicken sandwich. Is pretty pathetic that a seafood restaurant would stay open on a Monday when most other seafood restaurants are closed, so that they can take advantage of unaware vacationers coming through town. I can guarantee no locals eat here. Run far away from Jacks.
