The owner poured out my beer while I was out back smoking a cig. When I inquired about it at 1 am, he told me he did it because he was closing. I said ok, and may I please have at least half a pint to make up for his mistake. He refused. I said " How about a shot then?" to make up for it. He then told me I had to leave because he was closed. There was no one else in the bar and I was dismissed out the door without compensation. It was only 1 am. I then heard the door lock behind me. He closes early well before 2, and WILL pour out your pint when you ain't looking. He is a scumbag that employs Marshall at courthouse market who sells alcohol to minors. Ain't that against the law? Anyway, do NOT have drinks there. I went back another night. Different bartender. Daniel was cool. I bought 2 pints, and was treated with respect. Do NOT go there unless Daniel is bartending. Otherwise, turn around and walk out. Go to the Vista del Mar on ANY night and they will get you all the way together at all times. The little red lion is absolutely terrible. I have a great time at the local dive bars in the area, but I have to say that little red could use a face-lift and an attitude adjustment. I'm a regular to the Eureka scene and I usually have no complaints, but the current night time staff is aloof and unapproachable. I'm easy to please as I drink my beer from a bottle that only needs one motion to serve. It's the smile and personality that makes me feel like a respected patron. Alessia hasn't been courteous or attentive towards me and yet I will still pay and tip for the sake of local business owners. She literally has the personality of a saltine cracker. No greetings or smile, zero conversation and she even avoids eye contact with the patrons. She acts as if she is too good to serve. Her ability to craft drinks is by constantly referencing her menu books and then she looks so annoyed with the person who makes her actually try to prepare a basic cocktail. I live across this bar and everyone is loud and obnoxious. Patrons who go here are not considerate of those around them. They always keep the door open so I get to hear every single word being sung inside the apartment. I wouldn't mind it so much if they could tone it down a bit. I'm all good for having fun but people also need sleep for work the next day and they do not have a single ounce of decency. I can hear everything with headphones in my ears they are so loud. I've been losing sleep daily due to the sheer rudeness the bar patrons have. I hope the bar owner sees this and can begin to make better accommodations to those living around them. I may be across the street but I can hear the mic and the bands playing louder than they should. Don't you know there is a such thing as a noise ordinance in CA that you shouldn't be that loud after 10pm.
