Hi, Randy. I appreciate your concern, and also understand why a less than perfect rating is discouraging. It is clear when we dine at Pangea, your entire staff takes great pride in creating a unique dining experience. With that being said, these are a few reasons we (it was my family as a whole who rated) decided on 4 stars: At the cash register, you had displayed cans of Joia, which we were interested in trying. My daughter and I discussed (in front of the cashier) which flavor we would split. When I ordered it, the cashier told me you don't currently have those in stock. On her behalf, she suggested instead High Noon, which we did try and enjoyed. But, why display items that you don't have? My daughters and I are big macaron fans, and sometimes come in just for dessert! We love the fact that you have such a variety. Recently, my daughter noticed there were 2 colors of her favorite flavor, chocolate. I do know how temperamental they are to make. Over mixing, ingredient ratios not perfect, or inconsistent oven temperatures can all result in dull cookies. In this case, the few remaining duller ones were on top of the shiny, vibrant cookies. We were served a dull one. It gave the impression you were trying to get rid of the ugly ducklings. Although she said it was still delicious, my daughter expressed disappointment of the visual difference. I think it would have been best to hold the shiny ones until the others had sold out so that we didn't have the comparison. Finally, the last issue has been ongoing. My husband and I have come to your restaurant many times to split a Pistachio Pizza. That flavor combination was just incredible to us! A month or better ago, we came in for lunch. For both of us, we couldn't put our finger on it, but something with the pizza was different. It was still good, but it just didn't have the same "wow factor" as before. Shortly thereafter, a coworker came to Pangea for the first time (after hearing both my husband and I brag about that pizza). She, unfortunately, was not pleased with it. On my most recent visit, I once again ordered the Pistachio, hoping our previous issue was a fluke. Again, the flavor profile was not the same, and this time, my hands were left sticky from (I assume) an excess amount of the honey drizzle. I can't say what has changed - only you would know that. But, next time, we will order something different. Please understand, these are only mild criticisms, as far as we're concerned. We are still fans of your restaurant, and certainly hope you have longevity because of the delicious creativity your restaurant has brought to the east side! I hope my...

So me and my wife seen the review in the local newspaper about this place I had personal never heard of it before this or heard anybody talk about it so we decided to give it a try because I am a huge fan of real Detroit style pizza which nobody can seem to get right in my area so I have to say the first pizza we ordered was a small butcher it was absolutely hands down best pizza I've ever had , simply amazing so with it being a small we actually liked it so we went back to order a large got that it was burnt and they were missing two meat toppings off of it that were supposed to be on there but without hesitation manager had seen it and gave me two coupons for replacements for next time which I was perfectly fine with unfortunately I do have to say we didn't even end up eating the large pizza because the burnt flavor was so overbearing I couldn't get past it now fast forward to today we cashed in our coupons and got a butcher and a house special they were like the first pizza absolutely amazing one thing I have to complain about the price isn't super outrageous but it is kind of pricey but it also is high quality so I'm fine with that but I have to say for that price I expect more meat when I post these pictures you'll see what I'm saying that is my only complaint other than that I give this place a highest recommendation that I've ever given on any of my reviews. Also the manager was absolutely delightful super nice guy looked me in my eyes when he spoke even came up and introduced herself and shook my hand like a real business person should and of course apologized and made it right ,so just wanted to point that out. But you guys keep up the great work and I will for sure be a return customer and I highly recommend others to do the same and if any of you know me you know I don't vouch for restaurants very often at all so with that being said go try you some amazing Detroit style pizza! Can't speak on the rest of the food to be fair because I haven't had it so put that out there you can make your own...

Ordered online for pickup.. however it was frustrating that you do not have the ability to order desserts online. Arrived on time.. order was not ready. One item was not available at all.. 15 minutes later received order but glad I checked it because it was still missing one of the main items. I was told they would make it right away and would only take 10 to 12 minutes.. they put already made items in hot box to keep warm (after I asked them to).. 30 minutes later had to ask them to check on my order.. 10 minutes after that I finally got all items ordered.. so a total of 55 min after I arrived on time I was finally out the door with my food. Staff was very friendly and the food was delicious and clearly made with high quality ingredients however the wait was EXCESSIVE. We ordered 3 pizzas both Napoli & Detroit style and they were authentic and some of the best pizzas we have ever had (loved the crust). A Meatball appetizer which was delicious but does have a touch of heat to it so my friends who have low spice tolerance couldn't eat it. The roasted vegetables were good but still very tough & disappointing (I won't be ordering again). I Also ordered the Drunken noodles with roast pork which tasted good but I would not come back for. While I was waiting I selected several macaroons which were yummy and also got a selection of gellatos.. chocolate, pistachio, & mint Oreo.. the mint was our favorite. They held them in the freezer until the rest of my food was ready thankfully, the young lady at the dessert counter was very friendly & helpful. Cost for 3 pizzas, meatball, noodles, veggies & desserts was just...

"The secret millennial and trendy spot right in the middle of the city" This is what I would define this entire setting as, it certainly has a more upbeat and friendly vibe than other local restaurants in town. It's very open concept and you can see everything going on in the kitchen, the variety of food is absolutely amazing, and everything tasted great. You can tell they care alot about what they have on their menu, we haven't gotten to try the pizza yet, but they have daily lunch specials as well. The wait time was a little longer than expected, but you have the option of quite a few types of meals and everything is made fresh to order so the time to cook is longer than some other restaurants who pre-prep some foods. Worth the wait though, but expect to add about at least 10-15 minutes for your food, maybe a little longer for pizza. This place also has a lot of vegetarian options which is great as many places here in this city do not, and they all look very tasty as well. One of the only places in this town that care about the presentation and plating of your food in addition to the actual taste.
