The professionalism at this Evansville location is definitely lacking. I own jewelry that was purchased for me with care plans at Kay Jewelers by both my husband and my mother. I have been getting most of my inspections done at the Terre Haute store and have received VERY friendly, professional, and courteous service. This month I happened to be in Evansville and took two pieces there for inspection. I don't know the name of the young guy who waited on me, but I was not at all pleased with his attitude. I had to give him 3 phone numbers (mine, my husband's, and my mom's) before he could find my records on the computer. I was getting frustrated to say the least. He could apparently read my frustration because he made some kind of dumb comment like, "smile," and I don't remember the rest of his offensive comment. I verbalized that I thought the Terre Haute location already had all my jewelry pieces loaded on the new computerized record keeping system properly. He proceeded to tell me how efficient "his" store is and how he's heard nightmare stories about what goes on at the Terre Haute location... didn't appreciate that because I always get good service there. I asked if he could look me up by name---said he couldn't. He finally found me under my mom's phone number, which makes no sense to me. I was the recipient of these gifts; I'm the owner. Note: I AM NOT A FAN OF THIS NEW COMPUTERIZED RECORD KEEPING SYSTEM WHERE I WALK OUT OF THERE WITH NO PROOF THAT I HAD MY INSPECTIONS DONE REGULARLY. I can see having a problem and the claim being denied because I have no proof of the regular inspections that I make sure of! He had to tell me how I won't need the papers I have been bringing in each time; I told him I LIKE the paper system. To that comment he reiterated that I wouldn't need it now and just brushed me off. The whole interaction was uncomfortable. I felt that he wanted to hurry up and be done with me-----I guess he keyed it in that he inspected my pieces, but I'm not sure he actually did an inspection. The kicker is he brought my fine jewelry pieces back to me and placed them before me on a crumpled paper towel he'd used in the quick cleaning he supposedly did. Wow! Always before my jewelry is placed on a jewelry display type thing before me until I can either put them back on and/or place them in my purse. He then walked off. I did not feel valued as a customer. I KNOW what good customer service should be since I've worked customer service my entire life. Very disappointing. Unfortunately, my situation has changed where I'll be forced to use this Kay Jewelers for my inspections. Not looking forward to it. It's already an inconvenience that they moved out of the mall. Wouldn't dread it as much if the customer...
Read moreI can’t rave enough about Tracy! Long story shorter… I have been getting so tired of having to go to back and forth to Louisville since Zales closed in Evansville to get work done on my ring. Zales expressed that Kay could take care of maintenance, but not any work that needed to be done (redipping, prong replacements, etc), and that’s a three hour round trip… not to mention another one if I had to drop it off to get work done on it. Well I would really like to have someone local take care of my ring!
Unfortunately Kay wasn’t able to trade in my current ring, but could with Jared’s rings. So I was slightly disappointed with that, but somehow I ended the visit with purchasing a new ring despite the fact I was going to have to figure out what to do with my ring valued at $7,300. A big pill to swallow when telling your husband you’re spending another small fortune on a new ring!
BUT let me tell you, Tracy over delivered when it came to building out and helping me find pieces to make a ring look like my original wedding piece! I don’t have it yet, but hopefully by the weekend, then I’d be happy to share original and new ring!
I’ve never cried in a jewelry store, and as soon as we found those pieces and I knew it was possible to build out my old ring, I felt a tremendous amount of joy! I don’t even know how to explain it, but it was a sign of relief.
Now the ONLY reason for a 4 star…. I still don’t know what I’ll do with my current ring, since I wasn’t able to trade it in, being a Zales bought ring, but hoping I can find a solution to offset the cost of this new “old”...
Read moreEver since I was a little girl, jewelry has always been a huge part of my life. My mom always wears her jewelry no matter what she is doing. She instilled that same quality into me! Kay jewelry comprises the biggest parts of our collections! Over the last couple months Kay has worked hard on some custom pieces that will forever be the most important in our collections. My mom had this beautiful idea to honor my stillborn daughter by having custom rings made. When we took our ideas to Kay they were more than happy to help. They worked so hard to make our designs come to life. Kay went above and beyond to make sure every single detail was perfect! When my mom and I received our rings we both cried right in the store. This project is so near and dear to our hearts and I could never imagine taking this project to anyone but Kay jewelers! So please, I beg of you, if you ever want any custom pieces made, the right choice is Kay! I promise you won’t be disappointed! To all the wonderful people at Kay who worked hard on my mom and I’s beautiful rings, I want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We will forever be grateful for all the hard work, dedication, and attention to detail you wonderful people have put in! I truly can’t say enough good things. You all have helped keep my precious baby’s memory alive in such a special way and for that I will always...
