Jimmy Gao's is not Jimmy Jeng's Szechwan. The food is mostly okay, but every now and then I get extremely dry fried rice.
Update 12/01/2018 Went back to Gao's again a week ago. Been there more than a few times over the past year and they were decent. Not like Jeng's but acceptable. Well last week I got 2 vegetable fried rice orders. They were not great, really dark and overcooked. My wife called and the owner himself offered 2 complimentary meals next time in. Well today was the next time in, and the lady that took the order was not nice at all. I explained to her that the owner comped the meals, but she got really angry and threw the order at me. She tried to say that we did not call in, but I assured her my wife had. She was very angry and hostile to a customer that has been buying orders out of that place 10+ years. I told that I can find somewhere else and she said "okay". Sorry to say that after tonight I refuse to go back after many years eating at this...
Read moreIn all of the years this business has been here we have never tried it. I thought maybe everything would be spicy but its not. The service was amazing and I mean amazing. Its like we were at a Brazilian steak house. Every plate that touched the side was immediately whisked away and the glasses were always full. With all of the meals you get a soup and an appetizer of a crab Rangoon and a spring roll. Very nice addition. We were pretty full by the time the food came. Food was great a good serving sizes. Beautiful presentation if you look at my shrimp plate you will see how everything is visually appealing and not just thrown on the plate. The building is old. I can remember seeing it at a minimum of 30 years ago but everything is clean and...
Read moreI had forgotten why I didn’t order here again. It’s been a few months, but I used Uber eats and quickly remembered once it arrived. The noodles are flavorless and soggy and honestly just taste like they were boiled in water and veggies. The cashew chicken was the same. Flavorless, but had a strong chickeny taste to it. Probably due to lack of seasoning. I soaked it in soy sauce. The cashew chicken was more onion, pepper and mushroom than anything. The egg rolls were the only thing I’d eat again. They were amazing. Not sure if it was the noodles or cashew chicken, but one of them left a lasting bad taste in my mouth to where I might...
