Flavors galore! ...but as with all my reviews, let's start from the beginning. As soon as you walk through the door you're welcomed into an atmosphere of a Japanese garden. The Cherry Blossom tree is a beautiful complement to the rustic brick wall and sets the tone for what can either be a romantic date night or a fun, intimate night out with friends. We immediately heard a greeting from the back walking forward with a huge welcoming grin. As we're walked back to our table I am happy to see how clean the restaurant is as well as bright and refreshing as though we had walked into the outside (ha, now that's a concept.) The menus were simple yet made decisions hard as all the pictures looked delectable. After my husband told the server that this was our first time he energetically told us about almost everything on the menu especially the popular dishes. Just his description of the food made my mouth water. He then served us green tea. And that was the beginning of our journey down the savory road. It tasted like a perfect mix of green and brown rice tea. Not before long he was presenting our first dish, the squid salad. It was so refreshing. The flavors were light and perfectly balanced. It was a good palate starter. Next were the pork belly sandwiches. Now I've had this dish before, but not like these. I cannot even describe how amazingly yummy they were. You'll have to experience them yourself. As I was taking my last couple bites the karage arrived. Every piece was perfectly bite-sized, lightly breaded, tender and full of flavor. And the best part was that the roof of my mouth didn't hurt, which it usually did after eating karage. Now for the reason this restaurant stands, the tonkatsu ramen, chef's specialty. Their presentation alone was enticing with the colors and layout. With all that we had ordered we decided to share a bowl and so glad that we did. It was more than enough after all those delicious appetizers. And it was a good way to end our meal. That and one more cup of the green tea. During our meal the other server checked in on us regularly and our server even apologized for not being able to pay more attention to us and offered to take our picture with the tree. Overall between the atmosphere, service and especially food, it was most definitely a spectacular date night. One we'll be sure to...
Read moreAmazing restaurant that serves up some of the best ramen dishes in the area. The restaurant's interior is beautifully decorated with modern and minimalist touches, subtle lighting, and a stylish tree on the wall that creates a nice and trendy atmosphere. The menu features a range of traditional and innovative ramen dishes. One standout dish is the Tonkotsu Ramen, which is rich, savory, and oh-so-comforting. The broth is made with slow-cooked pork bones, resulting in a creamy and deeply flavorful base. The accompanying noodles are perfectly cooked and the toppings are thoughtfully chosen to provide a range of textures and flavors. I personally do a make my own and ensure it is very spicy.
While the staff experience was just okay. The staff were polite and professional, but the service felt a bit slow and inattentive at times. Also, they did not seem very engaging and did not go out of their way to make the dining atmosphere feel special. There were a few instances where we had to wait a bit too long to order or ask for more water, which detracted from the experience. They did not seem very engaging and didn’t really seem to be there most of the time. Overall, while the staff was okay, it was not a standout feature of the restaurant, but the food and ambiance are the main draw. Don’t let the busy times or the staff keep you away from such a great restaurant. I would still highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Ramen. I routinely come here constantly and enjoy the time I spend in it,...
Read moreThis review is reflected solely on pick-up and delivery service. Their food is good and works in a pinch when we don't feel like venturing down towards Seattle. While food is decent an issue is consistency. There have been more than a few times now that they've forgotten something with our orders. We've had a ramen order missing, sometimes an egg is missing, or we don't get gyoza with our combo. The egg in the ramen is a hit or miss, sometimes it's soft and runny other times it's hard boiled. I ordered dinner one night through their website to pick-up by the time I reached Everett and it took longer than indicated online. The hostess/waitress was very apologetic which I was very understanding about, however when I got home and opened up the sealed bags we had a ramen missing. A call to the restaurant and again the waitress was very apologetic and asked me to come back to pick up my missing order but give them 20 mins. I went back to the restaurant and the same waitress handed me the bag, and asked if I wanted to double check to make sure my missing ramen was in there. It was of course but just a little inconvenient especially after a long commute and 2 trips to the restaurant. They also didn't give us the free edamame that they were promoting if you ordered via their website. At that time I was just hungry and wanting to sit and eat with my family. Lesson learned, I will definitely be opening up the sealed bag and checking if I go for pick-up. Maybe the experience of dining...
