Quattro Pazzi Cafe — Restaurant in Fairfield

I had previously visited Quattro Pazzi Cafe about three years ago. All 3 times the food was delicious but the service... made me NEVER want to go back. Hence why its been 3 years since I had been there.

BUT on this last Sunday night, on a cold rainy night, in the middle of a pandemic! I could not be more pleased.

I called prior to arriving and was expecting to not get the greatest tone. But was proven wrong when a very helpful host was incredibly nice, urged me to come in, asked for my name and informed me of the safety measures they were taking on to ensure safety of the staff and customers. Wow just from that call I was already excited.

Upon my arrival I was seated right away and taken care of within 5 minutes. The server was extremely informative and recommended great food options that we indeed LOVED.

One interesting detail was the cocktail. I ordered a prosecco based drink and my wonderful date ordered a tequila cocktail. Both came in a Martini glass, both pink colored, garnished with cherries. I asked the server right away if these were the same drink and he said "no" and repeated the drinks we had ordered. Puzzled we shrugged our shoulders and tried our drinks. Two completely different drinks but looked the same... WHAT A GREAT IDEA. I really loved this because it showed that our server paid enough attention to see that we were on a date, communicated that to the bar and made sure we felt special. That is great service!

We skipped on dessert just because our dinner left no room for anything else.

THE MOST horrible restaurant experience. Is it a coincidence that quattro pazzi means 4 crazy people? Our party of 3 ate dinner there last night. We had reservations and arrived on time. We had 3 waiters. After waiting 1 hour for our dinner to arrive at our table, they served me something I didn't order. When I got my correct order, it was overcooked. At no time during our entire meal did anyone ask us if everything was okay. It was also difficult to get any waiters' attention to call them to our table. I did not leave a tip for this horrible service. The topper of the evening was after we left the restaurant. We were several yards away from the restaurant, and one of our waiters followed us outside to tell us we didn't leave a tip. In my entire life, that has never happened to me. How appalling and low class!! My family and I will never go there again, and I will tell all my friends never to go there. Apparently, the masks the waiters wore cut off blood supply to...

We can’t say enough about this place, but last night was exceptional. Celebrated a family birthday with parents, siblings, and friends. Drinks, especially the Espresso Martinis, were yummy! We had the Montauk Calamari, Buffalo Cauliflower, and Quattro Salad as shared appetizers. Spaghetti with Clams, Fettuccini Mitty, and Orecchiette with Tiny Meatballs were just a few of the dinner selections. Everything was absolutely delicious.
