Here at the new Pancake Alley restaurant, our wait was not long but they sure do have a line of customers. Cooks never fail us, food was very delicious as always. Our order was taken but our server never brought it to us. The only bad thing about the new restaurant was our server never came by once to check on how we were doing and that determined the tip. I also noticed how the host seated the guests. After she seated the guests she didn't give room for the grandma who was still walking around the booth and she got pushed into the booth and almost fell. The host just kept on walking and acted like she didn't notice but grandma got her bearings together and seated herself. Next she rushed the bus girl who was helping a customer. She could've helped the bus girl clean the table quickly instead of just standing there being impatient with her. The move was a big improvement for the restaurant but they lost the hospitality, the welcomeness, the politeness, the feel at home atmosphere. The atmosphere of the restaurant felt robotic. I miss the small Pancake Alley restaurant with the familiar faces who served us with big smiles and those who knew us by name. I'm sad to say but Pancake Alley lost me to...
Read moreWell, the service started out good .Jasmine was a good waitress. I order the steak skillet breakfast & my husband ordered the bacon, eggs, Hashbrowns & pancakes. It was all good til I put the syrup on the pancakes, that's when my husband NOTICED that there was a FLY INSIDE the syrup bottle. I had already poured it on my portion of pancakes. We finally got Jasmines attention about the issue. She came over after a bit after I put the contaminated syrup on the Pancake. She didn't say a word & replaced it but didn't take the contaminated plate away. So with that being said, I found myself looking thru my breakfast for other flies. When we paid the bill the lady who takes the money kinda laughed cause our waitress Jasmine had obviously told her what happened & took our money. No, I am sorry let me discount your meal, nothing except pay the bill. So I hope this review will make the managers/ owners aware of what's going on in their establishment. I didn't even venture into the bathrooms for fear of what the cleanness was. I won't be going back here . We hadn't tried this place since they have moved from old place. Very...
Read morePancake Alley delivers solid breakfast fare when you stick to the basics. Their pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, and chicken-fried steak are all excellent choices. A standout item is the hash browns, which taste fresh-cut rather than frozen—a small detail that makes a big difference.
However, I’d recommend skipping the steak and eggs. They use flank steak, which isn’t the best choice for a breakfast steak. My first serving was overcooked and tough, so I sent it back. Unfortunately, the second try wasn’t much better. After a few bites, I gave up—it was too tough to cut through, and chewing it felt like a workout.
The red chile posole was also underwhelming—bland and watery. As for the sopapilla, it was more like a crispy chip, with an overpowering yeast flavor.
Bottom line: Pancake Alley is not the place for good steaks. But if you stick to the breakfast staples, you’ll have an enjoyable meal. The service and atmosphere are excellent, making for a pleasant dining experience.
We spoke with Patty, the restaurant manager, and she was amazing—she handled the situation with grace and kindness. She made positive...
