Had never been to there, had only had their sandwiches at catered lunch, really loved the pimento cheese sandwich, so I went in and ordered the pimento cheese and a red white and blue salad. The girl at counter asked me if I wanted a half sandwich so I said yes. When I got my orde f it was a grilled cheese, so I took it back and the girl called the manager so I explained to him that I did not want a grilled cheese, I just wanted a plain old pimento cheese, so he explains to me that they dont normally make those as half sandwiches, so I apologized and explained that I had never been in before and I did not know that. So he replaces my order and I left without looking in the bag, stupid me!! Because I get back to siloam springs and pull out my sandwich and it is grilled!! So I call the store and the manager tells me that everyone knows that all their sandwiches are always grilled, so I explain again that I have never been in his establishment, only had a catered lunch and that I did not see on the menu where it said that all sandwiches are grilled and that normally pimento cheese is not grilled, he tells me again that all their sandwiches are grilled and everbody knows that, again never been in the place, how do I know this so finally he tells me he will make it right and takes my address to send me a gift card for a meal. So I decided ok, I will try them again now that I know a little bit more about the establishment. Well guess what never received my gift card and then wh r n I looked at my bank statement he had turned around and instead of charging me t he original 13.76 for the half sandwich and the salad, he had charged me the full price for the sandwich that he replaced the first time because he insisted to make a full sandwich to make up for the fact that I was unsatisfied, even though I told him I only paid for a half and that's all I expected in return. So I would definitely ask many questions before ordering anything here, truly I won't go back and I wouldn't suggest them to anyone. The salad had to much feta on it, that was all I could taste and the sandwich, I did try taking a bite but it was nothing but a sloppy greasy mess, reminded me of the old Velveeta commercials where it shows Velveeta vs. Cheddar, well this sandwich was...
Read moreI've eaten here many times, always getting the same thing, a cheese pizza. I'm changing my eating habits and opted for a salad, I asked for my salad to be chopped as I have seen people do this before. The fellow at the counter just stared and me and said "no"...... so I left. Then, 2 weeks later, on January 9th, a group of friends decided this was going to be our eat out spot this month. Again, I ordered a salad, asked for it to be chopped. I was told it depended on if the "guy in the kitchen felt like doing that". I laughed, thinking the counter lady was joking and replied "I sure hope so, I really want it chopped".
I got my salad, not chopped, room temp and tasted terrible. I went to the counter and asked why they couldn't chop it and just got a confused look and shrugged shoulders.
I ate my crappy warm salad, I was starving at this point. BAD IDEA. I spent the next 4 days throwing up, running a fever and hurting. Went to the Doc, severe food poisoning. Spoke with several friends this week and apparently it's local common knowledge that Newks mishandles food, especially cross contamination. Many people I spoke to either had the same experience or a member of their party did.
To make it short, stay away from this place. I've never been so sick in my life and the people who work there could care less if your food is ok or...
Read moreSunday shift around 2:30 in the afternoon. Lobster and bisque soup in a cup served with a piece of black hair. The soup was taken by me to the kitchen where it was either microwaved or prepared, staff did not even acknowledge a person in there kitchen, after three loud attempts of yelling "excuse me" for their attention. Only when I stepped fully into the kitchen, where the food is prepared for all of the guests, someone realized a stranger is here. I said "I have a piece of black hair in my soup!" They all looked at me as if I was an alien or maybe it is normal for Newks to have visitors in the kitchen complaining about having hair in their delicacies. They still stood there looking at me, and I proceeded :" it is definitely not mine because I am blonde, nor my husbands!" Only then, the check out boy took my cup of soup out of hands and while turning his back mumbled that he apologizes. Till this moment I hope that they prepared a separate cup of my lovely experienced soup, because it was carried back out to me with in three to five seconds after a brief visit to the lovely chatty kitchen in which I was not even noticed. Talk about their heathy and...
