This is a retailer who has decided to mark every price as double what it should be, then basically offer 40-50 percent off 3/4s of the time, so you can USUALLY buy their merchandise at a fair price. I hate this pricing model and that's why I give it 1 star as a store. Here's what's wrong with this scheme. Basically it's a big game you have to play and playing it becomes exhausting. Christmas items, for example are 40 percent off from day one all the way up to Christmas. But doing this allows the retailer to gouge you on a few items (whete they randomly decide not to offer a percentage off) where they can then make an enormous profit because it's not worth it for you to come back later or go to a different store. Then there's the weekly coupon...40 percent off any one regularly priced item. But only one per customer. So if you're only after one thing, you can go in the store and do fine. But if you need three things, you get a fair price on the one item to use the coupon, but you get gouged on the other two. And those people won't go to a different store or come back the next day in order to save three or four dollars. Hobby Lobby those this and that's why they use this pricing scheme. For all the customers that come in all day long, they God's people on just a few items every day where they make tons of money over the course of hundreds of customers. Create this game, and they set the rules, what's particularly annoying is that of late they are adding rules ad hoc. I played their game in the past, I would go in and use the coupons buy one item and my 14 year old daughter would follow behind me and use the coupons buy one item. I know, it's silly, but it's the only way to get a fair price and, we are following their rules! The last time I was in line the cashier informed me that if I was going to try to have my daughter use a coupon, she would have to be the one to swipe the card in the card reader and enter the pin (not me, her father)! I wasn't angry. Just sooo tired. Tired of the dumb games just to get a fair price where Hobby Lobby is still making a profit. I'm officially done. Lots of other similar stores out there....just have to drive a couple...
Read moreNever felt so judged so fast in my Life! Left this store feeling horrible! Ruined my whole day! So long story short today 11/9/17 was my first time in any Hobby lobby. I was so excited to check out all that this place had to offer!! I love hands on stuff for me the wife and especially the little ones(keeps them off electronics😬) so I (a 36 year old white male Construction worker) on his lunch walk in to the federal way HL store by costco. Ive been working all morning in the rain so my sweatshirt, boots, and pants was a little dirty. First 5 seconds I'm in HL a lady that worked there standing by the check out gave me a very dirty look. 10 sec after that I heard security being call over the loud store speakers. 1 minute after that I was met with a stern "MAY I help you with something" from a guy holding a radio and obviously security. I politely said "Where are your upholstery nails?". He walked me all the way and also stood by me while I looked at them. By then I was very uncomfortable and could no way make a decision on something as serious as Upholstery nails.. So I just wanted to look around for some Christmas ideas as I started to walk away the security guy asks me "CAN I help you with anything else"? I politely said No thanks. So I tried to shake it off and get into Christmas spirit a shop around. About 2 minutes into shopping I noticed he's following and not going to let me enjoy my HL experience which really sucks because of how excited I was when I seen it close to where I was working! Maybe I should dress in my Sunday best and try it again. Then again probably not going to because I should been able to that first time I came in dressed in the clothes that made me the money to spend in the store. O well still have Michaels and Joann Fabrics two stores where everybody's welcome no matter what you are wearing👷

Read moreIf I could give this store a lower rating I would. I came into this hobby lobby in hopes to craft bracelets to gift to my friends. I was looking for something very specific and could only find one version of what I was hoping make. I was probably in the store for 10 minutes before the PA SYSTEM was calling "code this and that" and finally "PD on line one". All I could think was that someone was caught doing something they shouldn't have been doing and continued shopping.
I had found some hopeful pieces but it wasn't exactly what I was looking for so I delicately placed each item back where I found them. I thought I would come back another time or search online to see if they had what I wanted in stock at another store. I went into the next isle and that's when I noticed that TWO employees were following me.
Lightbulbs went off in my head and I directly asked if they thought I was shoplifting. They responded with "just doing my job." I was so offended. I even offered them to look in my purse if they really wanted to. They again responded with "just doing my job." I was so embarrassed, offended, and utterly insulted.
What I value about hobby lobby and stores like it is that you have an opportunity to browse to find the perfect piece for your craft. Apparently not here. I was in the store for approximately 30 mins total before I left.
I will NEVER shop at this store or ANY other hobby lobby in the future. It doesn't matter to them that majority of my crafts and home decorations have come from this store which I have in fact, PAID FOR.
So yeah, consider everyone I know informed about how you treat...
